The Oldies Club are in need of an angel or a miracle.
One of the dogs who has been signed over to our care has been diagnosed as having a terminal illness. The dog herself is perfectly comfortable and happy, and of course blissfully aware that there is anything wrong with her.
In these circumstances we obviously can't rehome her, and we are looking for a foster home where she can be given lots of love and comfort for her final months, with all vet charges covered by the Oldies Club.
We have had wonderful people come forward in these circumstances before to care for dogs with terminal illnesses (and restore our faith in human nature). Unfortunately in this case it is proving very difficult because the dog in question will NOT live with other pets and desperately needs a fosterer without other dogs or cats.
At the moment she is in temporary foster care, but as she has proved aggressive with the other dog in the home this is only sustainable for a short time and her situation is very urgent. Our options for this little girl are running out unless someone comes forward for her.
She is lovely with people, an absolute snuggle monster who wants to be a lap dog. She's great with children (although in view of her age and health we would only place with older dog-sensible children), and is happy to potter quietly around the home and enjoys short walks. She is a medium sized crossbreed.
I know everyone on this board is likely to have dogs of their own, but please if you know of anyone - friend, relative, colleague - who may be able to help or would like an initial chat please put them in touch with us (oldies@oldies.org.uk).
