Oscars face looked like the elephant man yesterday. (w00t)

I took him out for his normal morning walk - everything fine  went on the PC, did a bit of housework then next thing he looked like this. (see picture)

I bathed it with water and a few drops of lavender, and was thinking of taking him to the vets this morning.

Anyway the good news is its dissappeared just as fast as it came - thank goodness.

Very strange one.

Awwwwww!! :( Poor thing. Amazing that something like that can swell up and then disappear so quickly  Glad he's better!

I was frantically searching for Alfyns thread when a similar thing happened to Murphy a while ago now.

Anyway he seems fine this morning :)

glad oscars ok,seems more and more allergys are suffered than there use to be ,even in us humans.

Is it in FAQ? If not, and you do find it, send me the link and I'll add it in  It really should be there for easy reference, so I apologise if it's one I've missed :b

Could be wood ants, the dog sticks his face in the nest (massive nest)and they spray formic acid at it. It goes off quite quick. Do you walk in dry woodland?

Thanks Karen, I do walk in woodland - Ill look out for those little critters (w00t)

does he ever try to catch wasps or bees?

Devon hates them and kills them whenever he can, I don't think he' worked out that the reason they hurt him is cos he is chewing them - he thinks he should chew them before they hurt him

but he often reacts like Oscar did if he gets stung :(

Yes he does Doris, I did wonder about that too as I have loads of ripe plums on the lawn at the moment - ugghh and hes intent on chewing them wasps an all ...... so it is possible.

Oooo.. that poor thing ! Hope he's better soon. :huggles:

Mikkee had swelling earlier this year , one either side of her nose , they swelled up and burst :x

Looked quite nasty for a day or two , she s been left with scars , :( I havnt a clue what caused them  I just bathed them with lavender oil and kept a close eye on them
