My puppy also has acid reflux and is very fussy eater. Like you, my puppy is on 3/4 meals a day. I have found if his last meal is 6 ish, then half a dental stick in his crate a bed time, this has mainly got rid of the vomit on waking. Also, I go down at 7, even if he is asleep before potential vomit. I heat some chicken stock(real - we make and store/freeze), the smell gets his taste buds going. I then add some chicken to boring kibbles and dog food. mix all up and literally take to his crate and hold to entice him. I find essential to get some food in to stop him being sick. I know if it is smelly=yummy, if I can persuade him two mouthfuls, the rest will follow. Then another successful day of no reflux. Hopefully this may help you. As to fussy eater, yes I have set myself up for a bit of extra work. Cooking up a chicken, boiling up the carcass for a few hours and draining stocks off and picking off meat from what husband doesn't wish to eat. If I haven't got chicken, I put a dessert spoon of raw mince beef in a dish with a few table spoons of water and microwave. That I do the same with, mix well or yes he will pick the good bits. wafted under his nose I find he will eat more. Also I use sardines and tuna particularly with spring water as use the water like a cold stock. My puppy is a giant breed and skinny one and he needs to eat well to grow and have reserves if ever ill. So this may set you up with hard work but I believe could be successful.

Thanks for this. I agree with you about enticing him to eat breakfast - the last 4 mornings I have given him white fish which seems to do the trick. If he eats breakfast then it’s a good start to the day and I too waft it under his nose to entice him - a few spoonfuls and the rest goes quickly. I have also changed to a fish kibble for sensitive tummy. His acid reflux is fairly mild for which I am grateful - if he eats then it pretty much disappears - he only has a problem when he won’t eat. Somebody suggested platinum which he loves so I have ordered some as a back up incase he goes off this kibble - don’t want to keep changing food but may well change to this as I know kibble is not recommended for acid reflux.

Sounds like you are doing really well. I am hoping and perhaps for you also, as the puppies mature, they may outgrow.
 
I would perhaps add some kibble to the rice and chicken ( and peas? )the chicken or rice water will soften the kibble and add to taste?
When my pup had a poorly tummy I was advised to add the rice/stock water to the food and it worked u then gradually added some kibble and eventually reversed the quantity. To be fair she doesn’t suffer with reflux just spoiled. It did work but was a gradual process - like yours she filtered what she wanted. Adding some warm stock or unsalted gravy to the kibble will make food soften and tastier too. food luck
 
For the first time since Christmas Freddie is completely off the chicken and rice - yay! I took the plunge with platinum dog food after being recommended it and he loves it. Tummy is improving and has only been sick once in 2 weeks. Feels good to have him on proper food. He is also on slippery elm and probiotics which must be helping. Onwards and upwards!

Sounds like you are doing really well. I also am an advocate of complimentary supplements and holistic approach. Obviously Jasper gets medicine from vet where needed but the above is certainly helping me win the reflux battle. Pascalina
 
So I spoke too soon. Freddie is currently in hospital. Was in severe pain - they think it is adhesions from his previous surgery. Turns out the new food is doing him no favours either as his colon was full with faeces that he wasn’t passing. He has been passing faeces daily though so a bit of a mystery. Been advised to change his diet again so back to the drawing board. Hoping to be home tomorrow but depends if they can get his pain under control.
 
Oh, bums - I'm so sorry, you must feel like banging your head against a wall. The poor little mite, I hope they fond an answer to his problems very soon xx
