Hi new to this part of the forum.

Any advice on pedigree racing in Lancashire area?

Also what is the right age to start them racing from?

Thanks

Hi , we race at the Northern which is in Chorley, your more then welcome to come along and meet a few of us :)

How old is your whippet ? they can have a run behind the lure when there 6 months but if there under then they can only have a rag while someones pulling the lure .

We will be trialing this sunday from 1pm if your interested :D

The club sections mostly give results of races but you should find a "pinned" thread giving contact, time, location info

there are also a couple of nonped clubs in Lancashire I believe (one is Astley Miners) and they usually will run some separate heats for ped whippets if requested (and perhaps are more welcoming if your dog is over the size limit - hope that's not a problem)

What is the size limit, as D is a big whippet............

20 inches to the shoulder for a bitch and 21 inches to the shoulder for a dog, weight limit is 32lb

because there are a few people with bigger whippets who'd like to give them a run as well, i think the Lancashire are going to put on some fun bigger dog races in the future.

there are already a few bigger dogs that run there individually so it will give them a chance to have fun competing with each other :)

the Lancashire is back racing on the 13th Sept

hope this helps

There's a non ped club at Lancaster (if you pm SMasH she will give you details) and also a new club being set up at Southport (if you pm weathergirls she will give you details) i'm sure both clubs will accommodate pedigrees

wheels are in motion to get the new non- ped club up and running in the near future at the LEISURE LAKES, MERE BROW,Nr TARLETON, LANCASHIRE

PEDIGREES, LURCHERS,etc all will be welcome it is hoped to run this club in conjunction with Lancaster WRC and A/T Miners WRC

will keep you posted

The Lancashire will be running races for dogs over the hieght/weight limits if enough are interested there could be an end of year trophy for the dopg with the most wins.

our next race meeting at the Lancashire is the 13th September at 1pm at Littleborough sports club which is behind Hollingworth Lake Littleborough.
