I have had a request to post the following call for help from the whippet rescue here in Victoria.

Hi Everyone,

These two sisters are urgently without a home because their owner died suddenly. They are desexed which is a bonus!!!!! The estranged wife of the former owner cannot keep them because she lives in a unit where the Body Corporate don’t allow dogs!!!! She had trouble in the past when she minded her son’s dog and the body corp were down on her like a ton of bricks. She can keep them for the time being but we (The Club) will try to find someone to foster. She has promised her son she will find a good home for them. Prefer not to separate of course because they have been together forever. She has told me that they are very obedient, quiet, well mannered, house dogs, etc. These pictures are recently taken and they look lovely.

If you can’t find room for another two whippets in your home maybe you know someone who has admired yours and would like to give these two girls a home. Perhaps you could print out the “advert” to show to friends or family.

Sorry I was unable to copy the photo's across for some reason. I will onforward the email to anyone wishing to see the photo's. It is hard to see the colouring of the girls in the photo's, but one appears to be a pale fawn and the other is a fawn & white parti. Not that colour should make a differnce in these circumstances.

Hope some out there can help.

I hope they find a new home soon, Karen :(

It must be so confusing for dogs when their owners die and they have to be rehomed, and passed about a bit before the right forever-place is found. Good luck to these girls. Probably better that you can't post a pic, or it will tug at all our heartstrings - and most of us can't do anything to help from this side of the world.

:luck:

Good luck finding the girls a home Karen. :luck:

Poor girls :( Please keep us updated so that we know if they have found a new home.

Tesa can you cross post this to Whippet World as well? I dont know how but if you cant do it ask Wendy to, she is also on Whippet World. there's a few Aussies on there.

Hi Jethro,

Yes it is terrible. Sorry but I don't know how old the girls are. They are here in Victoria. Sorry I was unable to convert the picture I received with the email, but if you pm me your email address I can forward the email to you.

Cheers

Hi Jethro - I have asked before in another thread but you didn't answer - did your Dad ever show whippets? I too live in Qld - got a feeling I might know your Dad ... does he live in Central/North Qld around Proserpine?

Good news the girls have new homes. Doesn't sound like they will stay together but they have both gone to great homes.

Here are the lovely girls. Thanks to Lida for reformating the photo's
