Our other bitch TARA out of GRAYHAMS DREAM won the overs at the same shows beating MADDY ,All Ireland Champion for 3 years and CHATSWORTH CHAMPION...

Well done to TARA, the only time Maddy lost a race and i have never been able to cope since  .

We'll not mention the previous occassions when TARA got beat by Maddy by sometimes up to 10 lengths and more.... did i say that. Now we all know that your Dad didn't own her then but they guy who did knew how to get a dog going as just look at his record with the father of your pups.

I still reckon if Maddy hadn't have torn both her gracillas muscles she would give the current batch of overs a good old run for their money despite her age but thats just me living on yesteryears. :teehee:

Good luck with the pups and they should give all the current overs and under champions something to think about in the next 18 months. You may need to sell some over here as i am lead to believe that there are a lot of litters of pups bred to race in England at present.

As for John and Rose , you've got to take your hats of to them for their dedication and commitment to the lurcher scene. I've lost count on the amount of times they have travelled over to England these last few years.....definitely worthly of all their success's. Sometimes you need that bit of luck at others cost and it seems to me by all accounts that John has been very unlucky on the last two occasions....better luck next year John with COLT. TORRI just can't seem to do any wrong at the minute and Rose must be building up a massive collection of trophies and jackets in her room. Must admit the jacket looks cool...now that is something that no one from N. Ireland can boast of in their collection of winning memorabilia.

But wouldn't it make you work that little bit harder with a pup you keep :sweating: and selling them over here doesn't mean they wont come back to haunt you.John and Rose have proved how easy it is to get on a boat and come over here, and your Dad did it plenty of times  Prospective buyers over here could possibly want to race the rest of the litter to see if theres are the fastest.Infact lets hope some are sold over hear, then maybe English racers might make the effort and return the compliment that John and Rose have paid us on loads of occasions.Good luck with the pups Kirsty I hope there all champions :D Karen

Dad went over to av a go too,at Chatsworth ,4 years in a row.Tarn reached final first year and won supreme show champion, only reached semis on sunday as dad 4got food n ad to feed er on tinned dog food or somethin. It scouerd er big time .ER dad also reached semis as did er sister on same day. Second year Dad recons he was robbed in the final .On the sunday tarn was boken up all day and even had to b taken out of the championship show ring as she was being sick all over the place.Last year dad went over, Silver was perminently injured in final after he hit the bad dip in the ground while in front n then a big white dog hit him from behind and crippled him .His sister bonnie reached the final of unders but didnt race cause dad was over under a tree and thats where Bonnie ran to .Another sister won simulated one day and was beaten in the final the other. That was the very hot year cause i was there .not bad considerin all the travellin in 30 +% .Dad packed it in after that.He won All Ireland overs and unders the last time he had a go . So that left him winning ALL IRELAND unders 93,94,95,96,97,98 and both overs +unders 99.This is Kirstys sister,Guess what,he came back 4 afew shows last year and beat everything with a 6 year old Bitch called MEGAN,who hadnt raced for 4 years, she beat Miss Torri 3 times out of 4 and was in season the other time .Our other bitch TARA out of GRAYHAMS DREAM won the overs at the same shows beating MADDY ,All Ireland Champion for 3 years and CHATSWORTH CHAMPION....++ This years All Ireland Champion ,ELLY MAY...OH,by the way ,MISS TORRI beat our SEVEN year old MEGAN by 3 lengths in the final at John ,STORMYDOGS,show this year, not a bad effort for a wee pensioner . Wait till dad breeds of her,if we can talk him into it.....

thought this topic was about ur new born pups??? next thing ur bla bla blaing about this and that dog u beat??? and mocking everyone elses dogs?? the fact is Miss Tori and Megan raced 6 times not 4! and won 3 each! Megan won at ballywalter, moira and down patrick?? then Miss Tori won at tandragee and raced megan twice at johns show and won both races on same day! so thats 3 each! and yeah u can say say she was 6 or 7 and was in season.. well i cud say the only reason Megan beat Miss Tori is because she took bad effects to getting the jab to stop her breaking but watever it doesnt matter!! also as far as i know megan never got '1' all-ireland title nor Tara! but Miss Tori has won it 3 years in a row!!! oh and b4 u say it let me guess it was only because use were banned??!!.. also use said use went to england 4 times and got to semi's and got robbed etc!! well i brought Miss Tori over to 5 events in england in one year, Midland GF 05, BWRA Bend Bonanza 06, 4 Nations Championships 05, Midland GF Championships 06 & Lurcherworld Championships 06! and guess what! heres the results, she won all 5!!! i dont remember Megan or any off ur dogs winning that many races over in England!!! so u can leave 'Miss Tori' out off this discussion thanx.. she has nothing more to prove!!

Mark gonna buy you a big wooden spoon for Xmas :- " Horses for courses :D Think a few of the Cornish lads run whippet/greyhounds don't they?infact I spoke to one last night and guess what was the topic of conversation? You've guessed it whippet/greyhounds.You see us whippet/greyhound owners haven't got a problem with simmo, but there is luck involved in winning. You can have a brilliant dog but if it doesn't make the gates you've lost.Us speed merchants like to narrow the odds of loosing. We just want to own the fastest dog :D I do hope you wont take this the wrong way :- " but your dog as something in common with our type of dog.It takes a thick dog to win the simmo or one that is lure crazy.A dog with brains is liable to cut the gate out to get to the lure quicker :D Karen
well i agree to disagree with 14 simulated wins under our belt this year shows its not luck the merle who won lurcher world finals is one of the cleverest dogs if not the cleverest for her age ive seen now there is only one whippet greyhound down here in the unders thats beat my black one its joes the lad who u was going to kill and its the pups aunty there has never been any dog any cross beat them in the pup racin and few in the unders and there only 11 months so watch this space mikes dog lost to em when they were 9 months and that was cleo who he is gettin rid of and ash who is meant to be a flyin machine and my dogs are bred for stamina thanks mark

Now ,now Mark you sound a bit rattled :D When was I ever gonna 'Kill' Joe,he's a smashing lad  and very quiet unlike his mate  Your pups have run really well for you,and we all know how proud of them you are. :- " Have to say though think difference in the size of pups means they are gonna mature at different rates, and seeing as Mikes dog as I think made over 23"and your pups are a fair bit smaller then I would expect yours to physically mature alot quicker than Mikes.Maybe a race when they are both full adults next year could produce a different outcome.Who knows your pups might win adult straight racing we'll have to wait and see. :D Karen

rose wot r u on bout?? dat wasnt even me who wrote all dat stuff so get ur facts rite b4 u speak! dat was my sister..if u wuda looked u wud have seen dat she said it werent me! n whos dogs am i mokin?? ur found o sayin wot all dogs u beat so my sis thought shed put in bout how many dogs we beat! well megan was full blown in season n shwe didnt get beat by dat much neways! at da end o the day..megans 7 n still got it in her! Miss Tori's in da prime of her racin career so...n yea it was nly coz we were banned n coz dad had went outa the lurchers and into the greyhounds! the nly reason he was banned is coz no1 wud race against us...n then dad was asked to cum bk into the racin! n dad did get robbed over in Chatsworth..a man dat was at the shw n frm over there fned dad n told him that! megan n tara have never been took to race in England..so how cud they win a race wen they werent raqced over there! dad nly took the dogs bk to the shws 4 a bit a crak coz megans too old nw! even tho shes still got it in her like! well were now goin outa the greyhounds n bk into the lurcher game full time! b4 we just concentrated on the greyhounds n left the lurchers lie...but well b bk dnt worri....u think i look worried if she has nothing to prove...Rose dnt boast 2 much about Miss Tori coz at the end of the day......sum1 cud cum along sum day wit a lurcher faster n better than her!

ppl were mailin me sakin dad to tell bout the breedin o the pups and wot his racin history was like! dats why its on ere!

Folks, this topic has wandered way of track, but hey the craic and the banter is great even though there is a serious side to it. Markbrick, sorry got to disagree with you as i believe that the Emerald Isle has the fastest dogs. After all there is one title that i don't believe anyone from England has one or maybe two titles, namely, All Ireland and the Irish National Gamefair Champion. Why does Cornwall not open up there championships to include the winners of some of the shows up and down the country and further afield? Also when it comes down to thoroughbred racing stock Ireland must be up there with the best in the world whether it's dogs or horses..talk about throwing a spanner into the works. A few years back i was going to buy a dog from Cornwall. I think the dogs name was Bleau or whatever the french equivalent is for th word BLUE

Kirsty, what is the breeding of the mother of the pups? It's great fun this...brill to see us all in having a good old go at one another :clown: . At least it livens things up a bit. At the end of the day we all believe that "my dog's better/faster than yours" and that "your dog's better/faster than mine". At the end of the day everytime we enter our dogs to race/sim course/show we put our dogs reputation on the line and when our dogs don't perform to their ability we all look for a reason. Tarn, Silver, Delboy, Sky and Maddy and the likes dominated the lurcher racing scene over here for a period of time, sorry if i have missed any out but like all good things their careers came to an end whether through age/injury/or just a faster dog came onto the scene. With the current batch of racing lurchers Miss Torri is dominating the unders, and at the minute any one of a couple of dogs is capable of winning the overs namely Colt, Ellie May etc.

hahaha @ karen and "thick dog " i always imagined that after one run at simmo the dog would head straight to cut the lure off next time round..? mine do it every time theyve ran at it once ther event is over cos they head straight to next turn.

way to clever for that game me thinks ;)

kirsty very impressive record you and your dad have there.

are you going to own up to what happened late saturday nite mark..... :- " or will i spill the beans :D :D . all is not as it seems....how come the lurcherworld guys had a story to tell me about saturday night :- " all good sport tho.

next year my colt will be doing all events.. see its a percentage thing..the more you enter the more chance of winning things. there wasnt a dog on the straight that couldve caught colt but hell learn. hes 2 lengths infront after 10 yds every time !! truth is the boys fed up leading the pack up the track :D he has no one to growl at beside him ;) next year marky matey watch out for him and his not 7/8s bloody greyhound like the rest of the straight racers either.

what would happen if i put him over a good greyhound bitch...

well id say that all the cornish would win would be the "PASTIE" championship !!

j (w00t) (w00t) (w00t) hn

roll on next year my lad...now tell everyone about last saturday night mate..

 MMMMmmm I said the fastest not the best dogs are in Ireland. Markbrick, surely it's about time the Cornish Championships are opened up to include lurchers who have won up and down the country and further a field. :- "
