Hello

My last doggy was an ex racing greyhound and he had bald bits and I knew to expect them but the other day, Sidney decided to cuddle up, roll over and have all four legs straight up in the air so I got to rub his tummy and it's just skin..... where has his fluffy fur gone?

Is this the norm then with Whippys or is there something wrong with him?

He is happy as larry, not off his food or anything like that.... all other furry places are silky soft and huggable...... so has it all rubbed off? and are all your pups like it too?

Sidney is 17 months old

Thanks x

Mmmmm, baldy chests. I love them. I always think it's a sign that they have finally grown up. They have matured so much, their chest has outgrown their fur.

Nothing to worry about, and very lovely to kiss (as long as he hasn't peed all up his middle!!! :p )

Thanks for clearing that up...

We knew Jacques was really badly treated before he came to live with us so we knew he didn't have any fur on his thighs, tummy and chest....

I just didn't expect it with Sidney... :b bless his heart

Your welcome! :)

Mac has bald thighs, chest and tummy, so I was wondering a bit myself. But the hairs on his chest came back again, though. He must be really macho... :p

Yes not unusual Callie and Sienna are twins, Callie's chest is totally bald and Siennas is very hairy  the baldy chests are very soft

I take it their chests are white and you can see different coloured skin under the hair. It is probable that the skin under the white hair has pigmentation spots and this is absolutely nothing to worry about. No amount of creams will alter it as it is just part of their beauty!
