The weather last Friday almost chinned this trip in the first round ! Ferries were either cancelled or running late so it was a nervy time till i actually boarded. As Cardross is wayyy further up into Scotland i used the Larne-Troon crossing which cut out half of my driving and knocked a good bitve time of my total driving hours.
A certain post on here about "Deers" was very apt only the ones i mean were "dears"...."old dears"! Somebody drove a coach onto the ferry and opened the doors letting these "old dears" lose onboard !
Well Fluff me the were up to everything Mischievious ol Grannies..they were buying teas..coffees..cream scones...I DUNNO EH When we docked i helped round them all up again :sweating:
Anyway after driving thru Glasgow and Northwards to Aberfoyle i finally arrived in the misty atmospheric location that is Cardross Castle. The NLRC welcoming commitee were at hand with a coffee and afterwards i got my tent up and dogs seen to.
Saturday it pished..and pished... and it even pished between pishing. We done a parade of lurchers in the main arena where Linda gave a few words on each of our dogs followed by a coursing demo for the wettened crowd.
Sunday was glorious for the main Lurcher & Terrier show. I was judging the Lurchers and Ian Braithwaite the Terriers.
The racing was first and this was to be Colts first run since having his toe off a few weeks back, i only wanted him back with his paw intact...he did and he also brought back the Trophy too  Sonias "Willow" got reserve Champ in unders with a good run.
Some small classes in the Lurchers was disappointing considering there were plenty of dogs there, anyway the dog i stood as Champion was Stuart Bells (denned) stunning black dog "Toby". I didnt get to say cheerio to these guys as i had to sprint down to the main arena so i apologise.
A quick thanks to this Club who have more than welcomed me into the fold on numerous occasions, i was fed like a Lord and im now booked into the David Lloyd Gym because of them ! Thanks for the cracking gift you presented me with
