Yesterday myself and my three year old (well she almost three) were a bit board (no house work to do lol) so we gave my old boy Zig Zag a bath. How many people here bath there dogs and if so how often and what for e.g. showsand if not why not.

Well I bath (or shower) Oscar every time hes dirty which is quite often. Especially after he rolls in dead things and sheep poo etc. I use doggy shampoo from Dorwest Herbs which smells really minty - lovely.

I make sure hes properley dry before he goes out again. Fresh as a daisy ready to roll all over again. :x

My dogs tend to get extremely grubby but i dont bother bathing until the night before a show. I usually just give them a rub down with a towel and a couple of baby wipes to clean them off after rolling around in the dirt.

When they roll in fox poo or are up to their necks in mud (w00t) . I wouldn't bath too often as it strips the coat of the natural protective oils.

I only bath Sid when really necessary like today when he found a dead rat to roll in. I use tea-tree shampoo and he just loves his bath, but I always end up chasing him all over the house to dry him :sweating: and end up wetter than him o:)

I don't bathe mine unless absolutely necessary. Chelsea gets more than the others because she's my roller. I found that if I bathe before a show Savannah went all scurfy, so I've not even tried with Teya.

I have a self-rinsing shampoo that I use to spot clean if we need to. But I believe too much washing takes away some of their very own much needed protective oils, so I don't like to do it too much.

Robbie has had 2 shower's over the last 2 weekend's,,After racing he seem's to do somersault's and get cover's in grass stains and mud.

Ricky on the other hand stay's clean,,,cant remember the last time he had a shower.

If they not to bad, I clean with an old towel, but if they bad, they are in the shower.

We don't bathe ours very often, as we don't have a shower and the bath isn't really deep enough. Last time we did, after an initial spell of unusually nice fragrance, he started to smell really 'doggy'. Don't know whether it was a surge of natural oils to replace the ones washed off which was making him smell like a lab, but it passed off after a couple of days. He usually just gets the green, brown and yellow bits sponged off. Aren't they colourful? :x

I only bath Lilly and Oscar when they find something dead to roll in or the other whippet favourite fox poo :x I also use a tea-tree shampoo. I do try to dry them as best I can but then they go outside and roll in mud
