Bean has a lump on her tail about 2 inches from the base, its quite big about the size of a grape.

Its not sore and she will let me touch and press it with no problems, but it has me worried so i am off to the vets tonight at 4.20

Will keep you updated with the results, i think she will have to have an xray.....

Could it be a tumor :( , if it was a break she would be in pain wouldnt she

Advice welcome

Hope she is OK. try not to worry. Let us know how she is. :luck:

Poor Bean, she's not having much luck lately is she?!

Has she been bitten on the tail perhaps? It could be a cyst or an abcess. My cat, Sasha, bit herself (yes really :- " ) on the tail once and got quite a nasty abcess, but it was cleaned and she had antibiotics and was fine in a couple of days. Bean's could be something similar.

Hope she is okay! :luck: :huggles:

theres no break in the skin, which makes me think she has either broken it (but im sure there would be screaming) or a tumor/abess thingy

Hope everything goes ok with Bean at the vets.

Julie

Oh poor Bean!

It could be a break, but I don't think it would swell quite so much. Perhaps it's a fluid filled cyst or something????

Anyway, good luck with her at the vets - hope she's ok - I haven't even met her yet - perhaps Sunday after next at Gloucester?

Hope little Bean is okay, do let us know. Try not to think the worst, she's unlikely to have a tumour at such a young age. :luck:

Poor little Bean :( Her sister sends her lots of love and kisses :huggles: As do her half sister and the rest of the gang

:luck: :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

I hope Bean's ok, let us know how you get on.

 I thought all dogs had a lump about tow inches from base of tail, the lump tends to seem bigger sometimes.

I thought it was their tail gland !

All five of my dogs have a lump anyway.

It's called a precaudal gland and does change in size,i beleive it is a scent gland but your vet will be able to tell you more. :D
