Our beautiful Bella who joined us on Thursday has had her spay operation and has come through OK.

There were the expected complications but the vet is happy for her to come home at 4pm.

The last 5 hours have dragged out for an eternity, not knowing if she would make it through the operation and the guilt of putting her life in danger.

I will have more details later but I just wanted to let everyone who has sent their best wishes and support know that she is through the operation and is doing fine.

I'm glad she is through it ok..another 48hrs and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about!.

Give her a cuddle from me.

So glad the op went well, and that Bella will soon be home with you where she belongs.

That is great that you've got on with it and had the op, no more unwanted babies and no more seasons, she can just get on with a wonderful happy life with you now :)

 glad all went well, by tomorrow night she will back to normal im sure :luck:

So glad she is okay. Horrid decision to have to make but you had to look at the bigger picture and it will be better for her in the long run. Wishing her a speedy recovery :))

Pleased to read this Eve. Give her a hug from me :huggles:

Bella is home and tucked up snug.

As soon as she got home all she wanted to do was greet 'her pack'. It is lovely the way they all get on.

She managed to force down a cold sausage and a 'lite' chicken dinner :D

She is to be kept quiet for the next 48 hours to avoid any internal bleeding as her blood vessels are a big larger than normal and posed a few problems during surgery.

She can then have quiet walks on the lead for the next two weeks.

I was very concerned about using my new vets for such a big OP not knowing them very well, but I am really impressed with every aspect of their care. She has a check-up on Thursday just to make sure all is well.

Thank you to everyone for your best wishes and messages of support.

This has been a hard decision to make and has not been taken lightly. The support you have given has helped me cope with the decisions I have made for Bella's future.

She can now look forward to a happy fun filled life with Tony and I and her new 'pack'

I will pass on everyones hugs just as soon as she feels up to having them :))

Thanks to All :huggles: :huggles: Eve and Bella

I'm very pleased to hear that Bella can now live her life as a happy pet whippet

Best wishes for her quick recovery x
