I was speaking to a gentleman yesterday who owns a cockerpoo puppy and that they were really struggling to rid her of fleas.

She's had flea treatment on the back of the neck and they've used some frontline powder in the house (Is this any good?) but it still isn't working.

I mentioned about giving her a bath in flea shampoo.

Are there any other good methods or recommendations please?

Vinegar for fleas: To go one step further, you can add vinegar to this natural bath. Have some apple cider or white vinegar handy. After rinsing and towel drying, pour some straight vinegar on your cat or dogs fur. my friend has used this before hope it helps!

Frontline might not be as effective on fleas as it was... that's certainly the case with Frontline for cats, unless they've changed it since we had a problem with it.

Or it could be they've not treated the house well enough - I think you do really have to be thorough with the spraying, and vacuum, dust etc. regularly too.

I don't know if you can use flea shampoo in conjunction with a spot-on treatment, so he should check this before using it. He should also talk to his vet, who might be able to suggest an alternative treatment that could be more effective.

We use bravecto on our dogs really like it, it kills fleas quickly . I'm sure the vets sell a spray for the house to kill fleas?

Don't know how effective frontline powder is but Indorex is good. The pet and the house (and car if appropriate ) all have to be treated or the fleas will keep reinfesting. And like @JudyN says lots and lots of vacuuming including the skirting board/floor gaps. Another tip is to put a pet flea collar in the vacuum cleaner dust container.

Thanks everyone! I will pass this all on to the owner :)
