Just spoke to the vet and he has an intestinal infection so she has put him on a IV drip to get a stronger antibiotic in him. He will stay in overnight and I have to ring at 10am tomorrow. I could go in and see him but the vet said it would unsettle him so probably be best not to. Can't stand the thought of him not with me but I know he is in the right place and I pray that this sorts him out, I am beside myself with worry now,my poor baby. Roll on tomorrow.

:( aww hun ,i know what your going throu, couldnt bear for one of mine to be away over night :( ,hes in the best place thou and hopfully they will sort him out :huggles: :huggles: :luck:

sarah i will pm you

:( I'm so sorry to hear that he has to stay over night.

I know exactly how you feel. Last week my baby Jesse stayed 3 days at the vets. I was so devistated without him, and really wanted to visit but his vet advised me against it too.

I'm sure he will be fine though, and you'll have him back in your arms sooner than you think :huggles:

Take care and try not to worry,

Thinking of you,

Emma and Jesse xXx

Awwwwwww poor chap,at least you know whats wrong now, lotsof hugs to you all :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

Now they know exactly what it is he will be getting the right medication.

:huggles: for you for tonight.

Thinking of you and Blue.

Hmm......... I know Vets often advise not going to visit but, personally, I think it is better to let him know that you haven't abandoned him. I would always visit a dog that is hospitalised because it gives them that little extra will to live.

I went with my Vet's advice once not to visit and lost a puppy to Parvo. That was 20 odd years ago and I still can't forgive myself. He may have died anyway but I feel I let him down.

poor blue, but at least he is getting the treatment he needs now sarah, im quite sure he will be home with you all soon :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

thinking of you all :huggles:

Awww, Sarah, you must be so worried :huggles:

But Blue is getting the treatment he needs now so that's got to be a good thing, hun :) I'd be getting down to the vets first thing and waiting outside the door tomorrow morning so that you can be with Blue for a while. It will do him good

Did the vet say which bacteria is causing the infection?

:luck: :luck: for a full and speedy recovery for Blue :luck: :luck:

just spoke to the vets and he is comfortable, his temp is still normal and they hand fed him some food, she said that he is going the right way. Just got to get though tonight but I feel a bit better to hear what she said. Thanks again for all the support,it means everything,it really does :huggles: :huggles: it's so comforting to know you are all thinking of my baby    just can't wait for tomorrow to come, will be back on k9 to let you all know as soon as I can
