This big show was held last week end in the huge show grounds of Dortmund Messenhallen.

For this big occasion the German Kennel Club (VDH) organised two CACIB shows the same week end: the annual "Bundessieger" and the big Anniversary Show.

On Friday the Bundessieger was organised by the German Sighthound Club and judged by a Whippet breeder and sighthound Specialist Mr Baumann (Id Est Whippets).

Sorry no full results because I wasn't there that day but here are Mr Baumann's Winners:

Junior Winner Bitch: Sobresalto TUTTA N'ATA STORIA (Italy)

Junior Winner Dog: BRAD du Manoir de la Grenouillère (France)

CACIB, BOB, BIG2 and Winner bitch: Multi Ch. DAYDREAM Di Mahana (Belgium)

CACIB, BOS and Winner dog: Multi Ch. Blue Spring's TIBERE (France)

Sunday was the big day. Held for whippets by the German Whippet Club who once again did everything perfectly from the little glass of Champagne before judging to welcome every body :cheers: to the nice ring decoration :thumbsup:

Highly respected Breed Authority Mr Bo Bengtson was judging.

Numerous Whippet fellows entered knowing how rare the event is. It was 100 Whippets who were there from all over Europe from Denmark to Slovenia. Unfortunatly the German Kennel Club allows a judge to have 80 dogs per day so Mrs Ingela Kyrklund came all the way from Sweden to judge the junior and veterans classes.

I am selecting the pictures, when reduced I will put them on the forum.

Having Multi Ch Bohem Time Flies at home, I was unable to show any of my dogs. Thats why I was Bo's secretary assistant.

If someone wants to see a particular whippet shown at this show, please let me know and I will forward the picture.

Daydream Di Mahana, was in exceptionnal condition, worthly a champ in my eyes.

And she and DD showed at the best.

About the Sobresalto bitch, in my opinion, I don't like the doubling handling at all

But the judge made up his mind. The sobresalto bitch went BOB Group 1st, and BIS2

However, congrats to all the participants, as there in only one winner.

I also noticed that that 3rd Intermediate dog was VELASQUEZ Z Vilcabamba, young dog bred by my friend Draha (Occarina on K9) who past on last year. She would have been very happy. :cheers:

I notice the veteran winner was actually bred by Bo Bengston himself! Even if in Germany competitors are allowed to show a dog under its breeder it doesn't seem the right thing to do, does it? Puts the judge in a very difficult position.

Yes Tamara, you are right, it was group 2, but as it was the german shepard who was first :x , it thought is was the best is show.

I thought that the group 10 was only for sighthounde :blink:
