I did you & your mate a favour & charged you what's my going rate for stud fee's. Believe or not I charge DOUBLE for ped matings & some people charge double that for crappy dogs which ours ain't. You beamed down on me wanting a bitch mating you got your bitch mated. I also told you I was at your disposal from that point to selling your pups. If you had any problems you didn't contact me.

Like I said if you didn't want to pay you should have told me upfront. What's the problem? Got nowt for the pups?

Terry has stopped me from joining in this thread several times, preferring to fight his own battles. Over the course of this thread he has had shots from John himself, John’s customer/buddy, John’s wife & John’s rabbiting buddy who specially joined this list to have a pop and resurrected this thing. Now the good lady Jax (someone who can drop the odd catty remark herself) steams in for some inexplicable reason, backed up by yourself Judy.

I too remember those Gin Pit conversations John fondly reminisces about. I remember who said what quite plainly. Terry asked John an open question, he hasn’t had an open answer. Instead he got accused of jealousy and the quality of one of our litters was called into question i.e. “I won’t ask you the thought processes behind your last litter” etc.

Now you tell him to shut up. It is an acrimonious argument but what about telling all concerned to shut up not just Terry. Or is everybody free to have a go at him and make veiled threats?

I realise that amongst the back scratching, puppy selling, bragging, self advertising and the rest of the general waffle, Terry’s stuff strikes a discordant note. I suppose his views on breeding to mono/crypto’s by racers, and over exaggerated show dogs don’t make him too popular either. I’ll try to divert the old sod away from the pc. I might be able to do my own stuff and leave you to get on with your happy little world.

your getting yerself in a right tizzy Terry, and reading things into posts, that aren't there :unsure: I probably will see you around, you live 2 miles away, it was in no way a threat, I'm sorry you read it that way...

I have paid much more than you charged for a stud....and I was grateful you could accomodate me at such short notice, and I seem to remember saying as much at the time. The little crack about payment was a bleeding joke man! hence the little laughing faces!! JG in no way offered me a freebie, we just decided on a different arrangement....incidently, I know JG no better than I know you, I think he would agree that we are merely aquaintancies.

As for the pups, they were sold before they were born, at slightly more than the price we discussed at the time, and their sire quality was a good selling point.

As for being 'primed' as you put it, I haven't spoken to any wippeteers for months, JG included, I spend most of my spare time at this time of year with my head down a hole. Once again I'm sorry if you read it that way.

As for you being 'stupid' well, quite the opposite, I was very impressed by your knowledge of all things doggy and the Beddy as a breed.....and you make a very nice cup of tea!

So...I seem to have blundered into something I shouldn't have, I'm sorry for that.

Got to say though, I'm pretty disappointed with your responses, nothing I posted was meant to be backhanded or aggressive, why would I? I think my so called 'sense of humour' just rubs you up the wrong way...apologies.

Your right, you use your real name online and I use a 'pen name', that's because I kill foxes, hares, rabbits, rats, pigeon etc. etc. and I frequently discuss these subjects on line...and I am yet to hear of a whippet racing enthusiast having sh*t posted through their letterbox or their car tyres slit....

I suspect it's more of a communication problem as I find it difficult to believe Terry, John et al would have such apparent acrimony if the subject was debated over a pint at Gin Pit. Hope so anyway.

If it's the only discord you have come across in whippet world you haven't been paying attention.

I hope you two (John & Terry) can become friends again, from knowing both of you i'm sure you will as you're both sound blokes.

I do think though that sometimes posts can be misconstrued very easily and if i was gonna tick anyone off it'd be owdbum as i too read his post to Terry as a threat, he has since said otherwise, which is good to hear.

One of the problems of communicating like this is that things can get interpreted in ways that we or maybe some of us don't mean.

I have to say that I too thought that Terry was being got at and thus was defending himself. So we can see how posts get misinterpreted and things get out of hand.

Nice post Sheila. While I do not agree with how you view this forum I do appreciate your instinct. Dunno what Terry did to deserve you.

I don't think anyone has forbidden you to comment have they? But I do agree with Sheila in that it does appear Terry was being singled out unfairly. The posts by all the major "combatants" are open to interpretation and miss-interpretation but on first reading he's as sinned against as sinner. Hence yours and Judys comments were not IMO helpful.

As to whether the posts are childish or not is a matter of opinion and it isn't an opinion I would agree with. It would have been better face to face but since it is in public they have a right to answer their "detractors" even if some find it distasteful.

Since all these people actually know each other I'm sure it will all come out in the wash anyway. Better not to take everything at face value.
