Hoping to have a couple of younguns ready for this meeting  if you want any help give us a shout  you scratch my back, and I'll scratch your back

personally i don't think it would be fair on other racers and it may have implications on the track owners who have to have a vet present for trials of greyhounds. I will of course discuss this with the relevant individuals incase there are differing opinions but please don't be offended if we have to decline.

I don't know if this is helpful but there will possibly be trials of greyhounds in the morning (with a vet present) which i will also check and confirm on here on friday.

Thanks for posting vicky. Been told we still won't have internet untill 23rd-

Maybe the add should be altered to read and whippet or lurcher can enter -------NO Greyhounds!sorry

Those who want to race greyhounds with whippets could always start their own club to accomadate it --

Why they would want to run against whippets in the first place is beyond belief to my mind anyway--

This is where all the recent trouble and bad feeling originated -

we certainly dont want that in the North West Region thankyou or at any meeting we put on--

I am sure most if not all from the Westhoughton Whippet Racing Club would agree ---

steve

Have edited the advert just to clear up the greyhounds in 435yd. Open to Whippets & Lurchers only - didn't think when copying last years ad.

Also this months whippet news states No Limit scratch, obviously since the new rule change this will now be 55lb Scratch.

The North West committee felt it was unfair to award a greater amount of prize money to an additional event that is outside of the normal BWRA racing format.

Also, in respect to the BWRA's new change in format we felt it was respectful to the organisation to discourage financial gain from racing dogs that could be disputed as racing whippets under the BWRA's new ruling.

Out of respect to racers who's dogs would be excluded from running in the BWRA racing format, we decided to let the race itself stand but without the large prize money that's been associated with it in the past.

Got a friend coming along to take photos at this event. He's a gifted professional photographer so get the hounds out in their Sunday best!

Will there be a terrier race this year? Rafferty has his title to defend & will need to start training soon if he wants to be Terrier Supreme Champion again :clown:

Hiya J.T. i'm pleased to tell you we'll be having another terrier race. Look forward to seeing you and rafferty!

WHAT HAS THE SIZE OF A DOG GOT TO DO WITH THIS RACE, I THOUGHT IT WAS PUT ON FOR PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO TRY THERE DOG OVER 4 BENDS..THE RACE IS FOR ANY DOG, NOT JUST DOGS THAT ARE OVER 55LB..

AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE MOST PROLIFIC WINNER, YOU WILL FIND THAT IT WAS A 40LB ER.. FOR SALE, WHO WON IT 2 TIMES..
