I live only a mile from Kingswinford Rugby Club and this Venue would be available BUT due to the very dry weather we have had in this area the grass has died off in parts leaving bald patches and also the ground has become rock hard. We have visited the Rugby Club on a few occasions and prior to Devon the "track" was very green.

If the BWRA decided to continue with this venue and members turned up and saw the state of the "track" everybody would be "up in arms" due to the condition of the grass. IMO the BWRA have made the correct decision, unfortunately only a few weeks from the date, to seek an alternative venue because of the condition of the "track". Unfortunately nobody can predict the weather and without the rain the "track" is basically not up to standard.

Like Steve said people are far too quick to be critical when all the BWRA Committee are doing is their best for its members and/or safety of the dogs.

Good luck in finding an alternative venue and lets hope there is less criticism and more appreciation of work/hours the Committee have put into this to try and satisfy its members. Joan

we were informed that the condition of track was due to a some sort of heavy trucks running over it and causing the damage not due to lack of rain, just wish someone with authority would tell us what's going on and put a stop to all these rumours. :- " :- " :D

John I can assure you that NO H.G.V. trucks has caused the damage - it is down to the severe dry weather we have had. Even our garden lawn has turned brown through lack of rain. :))

Well maybe if it was watered daily and some good peat put over the bold patches the grass will come through in time....swallowsnest and ashfordby were the same when the tracks were new...maybe you could go water the track Joan as you said you are only a mile away, it would be a shame not to try after all the work that some members have already put into preparing this track ...JUST A THOUGHT
