I've just spent the best part of an hour reading all the Zoomie gossip and looking at all the Zoomie pics in one go! Fiona, I can imagine your excitement at finally having him home and he is just so cute ... do you think you'll be able to stand firm in the training process when he looks at you with that darling little face and says "It wasn't me, it was Millie!" ?

We are currently having to contend with a certain little red-haired husky puppy who barks back at you when you say "no". NEVER had a whippet (or a dalmatian, or a dobe for that matter) do that to me. Don't quite know how to deal with it! :wacko:

That was exactly how Milly behaved and to me she was a nightmare puppy. I must admit I wouldn't choose to have a labrador for myself - strictly the speedy shaped ones for me :p

Luckily she is OH's dog and he has worked wonders with her training, with a few ups and downs of course, and for 'his' first dog I really admire the bond he has created! Being a working retriever he has her responding to a huge range of directional commands too. Of course I love her to bits, always have, but I couldn't have worked with her confrontational attitude!

On the other hand Mr. Zoom (to show respect for his manners and grace :wub: o:) :wub: ) adores foodie tidbits and loves to please so who knows on the obedience front? I'm going to take him to classes when he has settled in a bit more. He RACES to you when his name is called, all credit to Jan for that, and I think he is showing signs of real intelligence... watch this space :p :lol:

Aren't dogs the most wonderful things on earth :wub: :wub: (all soppy now :huggles: )

Yes they are. Closely followed by Elephants, Horses and Rabbits :wub:

My mum's springer was/is exactly the same! Absolute nightmare as a puppy, all needle teeth and bounce (w00t) but so gentle with small things. :wub: She was brilliant with Albie when he was tiny.

Would have to agree with you and Rae about dogs being wonderful, but would have to add cats ( :p ) to Rae's list! :D
 
Darn it! forgot to say that the Zoomie pics are ofcourse excellent! :thumbsup: I met an IG once and held it but was afraid I'd break it. :oops: Love looking at their photos though. :wub: :wub:
