Yes they were from the xmas wrapping paper too! My favourite is the first one, I've got it as my wall paper on my work pc :huggles:

I love those photos of Lenny  - he looks as though he's having a really great time. I like the one of him asleep best.

I gave my litter of whippets a sturdy cardboard tube to play with when they were young. They loved it. One night I was locking up to go to bed and Jasper wouldn't come in - he was standing at the door of the puppy's night time run and listening hard. This was unusual enough for me to investigate and I am forever glad I did. One of the pups was sitting on her bed with her head firmly fixed inside the tube. The tube was open ended so she may not have suffocated, but if I had left her like that all night she would have been far more traumatised than she already was. She was just sitting there making small whimpers when I opened the door. I am forever grateful to darling Jasper for knowing something was wrong and will never use any tube larger or tougher than a toilet roll with any dogs ever again.

I had heard of italian greyhounds being suffocated when they got their heads stuck in Pringles tubes.

I don't want to be too depressing here but I think we learn from each other. Of course the tubes in the photos are perfectly safe for a dog of this size, but when I saw the thread title I had to tell my story.

Best wishes

Oh no! What a close call that was. Poor little puppy, I can imagine how scared she must have been :( don't worry about being too depressing, like you say, we can all learn from other peoples experiences.

Yes, Lenny was safe with these tubes but I have given him bigger ones before and I must admit I never thought about him getting his head stuck in it. I had a pet rat once which got its head stuck in the tube of a roll of carpet tape! I only ever let Lenny have toilet roll tubes when he is unsupervised. I threw those big tubes over to him when I was wrapping xmas presents. Well, to be honest, he would've stolen them if I hadn't given them to him - he's obsessed :clown:
