I am really furious. We have here 2 brands of Puppy Milk. I wean my pups on goats milk, but that is not always available, so I have no choice but to buy at least sometime the Puppy Milk. One of the brands comes is chocolate flavor, which I would never buy, just on principle. Do not these manufactures realise that chocolate is toxic to dogs? OK, I realise that what ever it is they put into this product is not real chocolate, but it sends out the wrong message. My puppy instructions explain why dogs are not allowed to have chocolate, but I had lately several people looking at me as if I am total idiot and saying; "Don't be ridiculous, xxxx make puppy milk with chocolate, they would not do it if it was harmful. They do all the research into perfect nutrition etc." Basically, if they do it it must be good for dogs.

Oh, well , so these people are not getting one of my babies, but they will go and get their puppy from somebody else and think it is OK to feed it chocolate.

When this company first introduced this product I send them a letter pointing out that it is not a good message to send to the community. They replied that nothing they put in their milk is harmful to dogs.

I was hoping that people will just not buy it, however that company soon stopped making the not flavored variety.

It's bad enough when human food is no longer food, but Choc Flavoured puppy milk, that's just plain wrong

I never thought to use goat milk for pups. I use goat milk to make handmade cold-pressed soap.

 Goats milk is lot better than cows for both pups and children. My daughter grew up on it and now, at 35, has only one filling in her teeth :)

It is just plain ridiculous - as you say encouraging people to give dogs chocolate but also the rip off merchants flogging gullible peole this sort of tat - I saw dog water for sale in Jollyes yesterday - DOG WATER??? What's that all about! chicken flavour dog water :x

Do they think that pups have Chocolate flavoured bitches for their mums? :x

I'd be furious, too, if I saw chocolate flavored puppy milk, too. Ridiculous! What are these manufacturers thinking?

As for the goat's milk, we give it to mom and the pup's once they are weaned and I would swear by it. Here in rural Maryland, US, we can buy powdered goat's milk under the brand name Sav-A-Kid at the TSC (Tractor Supply Center) and mix it up as needed.
