It was lovely to see friends and whippets at Gloucester today after the unfortunate appearance of Kennel Cough in the sport and subsequent meeting cancellations :( . We were truly blessed that four of those attending today’s meeting had brought their completely adorable puppies with them and were willing to share them for cuddles :huggles: . The puppies were bred by Dave and Lyn Thomas and are out of Conway Celt X Time Keeper. Dave and Lyn own Tia :* , Judy and Nigel Booker, Hazard :huggles: , Gill Harcombe, Zephyr :D , and last but not least, Lesley Harris, Axel :huggles: :huggles: .

More good news on the puppy front, though this puppy has grown legs, is the successful clearing trials of Steve and June Jonigk’s Smidge  . Congratulations, they hope to race this lad as Whiphaven Mighty Smidge.

Racing was over 150 yds at ½ yd per lb as usual, there were plenty of trials also for dogs recovering from injuries and niggles.

There was the obligatory debrief in the pub afterwards, and as usual, a hugely enjoyable day for humans and hounds

We are soooo over the moon with Smidge, and need to thank the people who lent their dogs to us today, and even pulled them out of racing to trial with Smidge and clear him for racing. Thanks to Lou and Daisy (sporting a diamond encrusted collar, and looking every bit the Diva in it :D ), Lesley and Ozzy, and Ginny with Sky and Katie. We also had offers from others, and it's much appreciated  The young dogs can't get cleared without older experienced dogs to train them with, and trial with, and everyone at Gloucester has been fantastic in helping us to train Smidge - who I have to say has been and Angel since day one. o:) Not at home though eh Smidge  :teehee:

Well done to the winners today, brother and sister Time and Chaos, and Conway Gem  The Dunctons put on a good show today too  Then we retired to the pub, for a natter and a laugh  We have had a great time racing this year, and it's not just because we have a youngster coming on - it's because of the friendliness and relaxed sociability of the members who make our club the best place to be. Thank you to you all, and look forward to the open in June  :huggles: I love Mushrooms :teehee:

Oh yes Junnie and Judy I even brought you your Sherbert Dib Dabs each, so you will have to wait till the champs if you don't go back to Glous next week (w00t) (w00t)

Well done Steve, June and Smidglet. Its always a relief to get those clearing trials out the way  but Smidge was always going to get through them easily. What a good boy he is :D

Hazard had a great time fighting with his brothers and sister. Wore him out it did -_-

Whats this about mushrooms? Must have missed that bit. I'm in the dark about that one :p

Looking forward to my sherbert Tina. Having nostalgic thoughts of sherbert fountains on the way back from school. Do they still look the same?

Well I took loads Julie. Then I got home and discovered YET AGAIN that there was no card in the sodding camera  I've done that at least half a dozen times now. Grrrrrrrrrr......

Hopefully some of the others will let me have theirs as they really did look cute when the racing started and they all lined up in a row at the front of the puppy pen to watch.

Well done to June and Steve, and of course Smidge for passing his proving trials   what a little smasher he is :huggles: . Well done also to all the winners looks like you had a fab day as always.

Yes Sherbert dib dabs are the same as far as I can remember :- "

Thanks to everyone who helped out yesterday, was a really enjoyable relaxing day

Ive said it once already but big well done once again to Smidge on becoming a grown up racing dog Smidge now and didnt he look great in his trials

Thanks also to June & Steve for lending us Nibbs who brought about Chyppe's best two trials of the day, we hope to keep this up with the lovely diamond collared Daisy next week (as long as he can leave her alone to actually run up the track! LoL)

I think that all the dogs just enjoyed being back at it and stretching their legs, we certainly had a lot of happy tired dogs when we got home

and Oooh what gorgeous puppies, I think Rob nearly ran off with Axel too (he was in the queue behind Jo) They are all beautiful

See you all next week.
