Well I took loads Julie. Then I got home and discovered YET AGAIN that there was no card in the sodding camera  I've done that at least half a dozen times now. Grrrrrrrrrr......

Hopefully some of the others will let me have theirs as they really did look cute when the racing started and they all lined up in a row at the front of the puppy pen to watch.

i dont no judy :- " :- " :- " woman of a certain age :- " :b

Only just seen this  Well Done Smidge  Look forward to seeing you racing :luck:

Thanks everyone - we are very proud of him, he's never put a foot wrong, and is so keen :p His first open will be 3rd Champs when he will be a year and 5 days old. We're not expecting any miracles at such a young age, but will be soooo proud to see him run as a grown up dog :huggles:

Hi Nicky,

The postcode is GL2 9QR. We have two or three members who regularly travel to us from South Wales. It is an easy trip within close vicinity of the M5. If you fancy a trip down, we are running this Sunday. Arrive at 11.30 if you fancy a trial. All are very welcome, we are a small, friendly club and we do enjoy a drink at the pub after

PM LJH if you are coming, though it isn't necassary for trialling dogs, it is always nice to know who is expected. Bring a small raffle prize, a couple of quid, and a bit of loo roll (just in case there isn't any in the changing rooms for us ladies :- " )

If you can't make it this week, we officially start up again in October, PM me or LJH for dates

hi joanna ,thanks for the swift replie ,bit short notice for this weekend ,but i definetly like to pop along to see if my tia would like it and your not to far away only 1hr 20mins ,when i come would i need to bring a muzzel or do they not need one till later also would i need to bring her paper to prov she is pedigree ,sorry i really am a begginer to this racing stuff but it looks like so much fun me and tia would love to have a go :D ooo and iv got plenty of raffle prizes to bring along

They only need a muzzle when they are running with another dog, so to begin with, just bring yourself. We are all very approachable at Glos, so if you have any queries, don't be afraid to ask :) . There are quite a few show dogs who run at the club, and they are accomodated with a generous handicap as they are usually slower than racing breds. My Archie is the slowest dog in the world :- " , he so loves to run, we don't mind his lack of speed  Within a few weeks of chasing a lure, the idea is to start competing against other dogs, get used to coming out of trap, and begin to feel competitive. We can then instigate clearing trials which mean that the whippet has been proved to run clean, that is not interfere with other dogs during racing, and then they can start racing properly. I won't bombard you with any more info now. When you are ready, let Les or my-self know, and we will welcome you to our club :huggles:

she was much fatter but we getting ther :D

I guess 25-26lbs  Get yourself up to see us Nicky when we start back in October. We do have 2 opens coming up too - and although you probably wouldn't get a go for Tia (lots of racing to get through), you would see lots of whippets, and see how it goes. Sometimes there is time for trials, but it can't be guaranteed. By the way an open is where dogs from all over the country come to compete, and we normally have in excess of 100 whippets running

That funny bloke Keith is coming in October too :- " and we do have a good laugh - you'd enjoy it. We will look forward to meeting you

The open dates are 8th June, and 20th July, and racing starts around 12.00pm.
