it all started last friday was grooming the dogs and clyde had a lump on his tail he did not like it when i touched it so i made an appointment at the vets. the lump is about 4 inchs from the tip so she shaved a bit of his tail had a look and said it looks like a bite, me and dougie looked at each other and said tank because he is allwaysplay fighting and can be a little rough, so she gave us some tablets and sked to see him again on thursday. i took him back on thursday she looked at him and said shewould put a needle in the lump and see if she could bring any of the pus out, she done that and only got a small spot of blood she thn spoke to another vet and then said to me i think he has a tumour, i just stood for a moment looking at her and asked what do you mean tumour she then said i think its cancer. she has booked him in for an operation on tuesday to remove part of his tail and said she will send it away to be tested we are so worried. we thought she would have taken a bit of the lump and sent it away to be tested instead of just taken off his tail, so we are taken him to another vet for a second opinion so we are keeping our fingers crossed it is not cancer.

All fingers and paws crossed for Clyde. :luck:

If it the worst happens and it does turn out to be cancer, and the tail comes off you will still have your lovely whippet.

So sorry to hear about this, what a shock you must have had. I do hope that you have some better news from the second vet, although as someone else has already said; Should the worst happen and they have to remove part of the tail at least you will still have your gorgeous man with you :luck: :luck: :luck:
