Hi all, why do today's youngsters have to smash their beer bottles all over our local parks, instead of using the bins??????

Had Codie for a walk in our usual spot this morning, he stood on a peice of glass ended up with 2 bad deep cuts on his leg.

Visited the vet, and got him sorted, but the vet said it is becoming more and more common.

They need a slap these idiots,,,,,

Anyway here are a couple of pics of the poor wee guy...

Poor Codie :( I hope he gets better soon :huggles:

Inconsiderate ba*****ds is about right, I'm sick of all dog owners getting it in the neck for the few who don't pick their dogs mess, but not a word about litter left everyhwere, I'd rather step in dog cr*p than cut myself on broken glass or worse when I'm down the park  :- "

Poor little chap - :huggles: to Codie - hope your paw gets better soon. The exact same thing happened to one of our dogs a couple of years ago - he stood on a broken beer bottle and ended up with a badly cut front paw and had to have stitches. He was so brave about the whole thing but the amount of blood he appeared to lose was frightening. People are so ignorant and lazy and totally inconsiderate   they throw broken bottles, jagged cans and even old syringes etc out onto the streets and into the grass with no thought about the animals who might walk on them.

Awww poor Codie, get well soon :luck: :huggles:

Gang of kids had smashed a load of beer bottles up on a field where I take mine running. They'd drank a box of about 24 bottles and I spent ages picking every last slither up before I released mine, I chucked it all into the box and put it at the side of the bin, thinking the council would take it away. No chance, it stayed there for weeks and then the kids strewn it all over the field again! FFS WHY?? what is going on in the brains of these kids today?

On a lighter note, I have a friend who owns a plastics company and he's clinched a big contract in the US as they're converting to plastic bottles over there. I've seen the new plastic alcopops/beer bottles in the NEC at concerts and they do keep cold well so I really hope it catches on across the UK. :luck:

Stupid louts, people make such a fuss about dog poo, they obviously much prefer thier kids playing around in smashed bottles and bent tins that stay there for years. I hope the plastic ones catch on perhaps it will stop a lot fight injuries too.

 Poor Codie I hope he heals really quickly. He may feel a bit better if you take that hockey stick out of his bed :p

Poor Codie, what a nightmare for you :( Hope he feels better soon :luck:

Poor Codie :( Yes I agree with all the above

Poor little Codie :( lots of hugs to him for a speedy recovery :huggles: :huggles:

It is seriously annoying......but not always kids responsible

The private park behind my house is where Digit cut his pad just before Christmas.........i was busy ranting about the local yoot, when one of the rangers told me it was probably down to the old head keeper who (had obviously learned his trade in the Victorian era) used to dig big holes and bury the glass in dumps! As they are clearing back the shrubs it seems likely that some of the broken glass has worked its way to the surface

so not always kids.............but equally annoying whoever is stupid enough to leave glass around, buried or not!

£200 bl***y quid it cost me to get him repaired

poor codie but at least hes still alive. :( a friend of mine from manchester who had one of my dobermanns years ago was walking his dog in the park and he was off the lead running round as usual when all of a sudden he went down screaming.as he ran over to him he could see a broken bottle in the ground and the dogs two middle toes lying next to it.by the time he carried him to the car and drove at breakneck speed to the vets it was too late.he died of shock and loss of blood, the poor guy was heartbroken :(

people have no respect or though what damage to dogs. its like a obstickle course taking your dog for a walk either in the village or down paths. wine bottles j2o seem to be the favorite in our area. been lucky up to know, where are kids going these days . hope cody makes a full and speedy recovery :luck: :luck:

Last month in the local small park that myself and alot of our friends visit (as well as small children) We picked up between 3 of us 5 beer bottles, one plastic bottle that had been used for drugs we think, old lighters, and used comdoms as well the the usual shoes and clothing.

One of my friends lives nere the park and said that the police had been called out but like normal did nothing.

1 night the local teens were completly naked running arun the park at 3 in the morning.

I wonder what will happen when there children (if they live that long) will be doing in the park

Have been told that therehas been needles found there afew weeks ago but i have not seen them.

This is a park that all people use not just the teenager idits

Oh don't start me on THAT ! ! ! !

Poor thing, I know that look of suffering whippet well  :huggles:

It's not just the local yoof, I did the full circuit of our 'secret' lake yesterday, it is strewn with all sorts of beer bottles, cans and other dangerous rubbish, some deliberately smashed up, all left by illegal fisherman. I dread to think what fishing rubbish, twine and the like they've left around the watermargin too. When ever I've had the misfortune to bumped into one, it's invariably a fat, forty-something bloke who should definitely know better. We do clear it up every couple of weeks, take most of it home to recycle, if only so there's less around to end up as sharp bits under doggy feet. :( :(

squizzle got some glass in her paw last year took ages to sort out. whent to the vets three times to dig all the glass out. the paths round her have got a lot of broken glass on you have to be very carfull

Bless, get well soon :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:
