~JO~ said:You've done a pretty good job Trish  - Basically you want the hocks at right angles to the floor, too much one way he is over-stretched and too much the other way he is not stretched out enough.
Front legs should be straight under the body.
Only thing I would suggest is don't bait him so high, as ne is raising his head up to much and this can ruin his profile.
I always use a word for when he is stacked, imaginatively it is 'stand' and then after they have stayed with all 4 feet in the position for a second or 2 they get a treat and lots of fuss. I keep leaving it longer and longer before they get a treat and they soon catch on. Although they can be rather trying at times!
Whatever you do do not get angry and if he just isn't playing ball just pop him back down on to the floor and let him go and do his own thing with no attention from you.
That's because he was well trained  ....... he's been doing it every week since before he could stand up on his own!!!! LOL!!! :lol:trish g said:he also did most of the position himself
you can tell too :wub:dessie said:That's because he was well trained  ....... he's been doing it every week since before he could stand up on his own!!!! LOL!!! :lol:trish g said:he also did most of the position himself

trish you want to get a magic house like mine :- " , well thats what the kids & hubby think they live in, as if by magic everything appears in cupboards & draws, things left out develop legs & make their own way back espacially my daughters straightners everyday, the trick is leave it on the floor & when you get home its back in its place! (w00t)trish g said:that rice is the daughters its been there for three weeks now,im waiting to see how long it takes her to put it in the cupboard or even eat it, think miracle comes to mind
i agree with the angle of the photo,it was my hubby that took the pic, will keep trying him and take some more in a couple of weeks.bardmand said:I think he looks rather well stacked. Agree with the comment on the positioning of the bait, though.
I would suggest you photograph from from a slightly higher angle, as well. I suspect he looks rather more high on leg than he might actually be in those pics.
can see where the rewarding would take over, thanks for the tip jo. :thumbsup:jok said:I think you're doing really well Trish and Fynn looks a very well behaved little man, which makes things a whole lot easier!
I was only going to say what Jo told you about his head being a bit high.
This is just my personal opinion, but i try not to use bait for too long. I've now stopped with Ruby because all she was doing was surging for the bait and it was not doing her profile any favours. I soon stopped with Frankie as all he could think about was the food! I give them a little treat once we've finished training. Everyone is different though
Seraphina said:Very nicely stacked puppy. What you aim for is that a line dropped straight down from the wither to the ground sgould go through the midle of elbow joint, run through middle of the leg, and touch the ground behind the dogs foot. And the hock should also be right angle to the ground. You got it all very nearly perfect

sorry to highjack your thread :b
thats got to be something to do with their legs while steadily strutting their stuff.????Millie said::thumbsup: You and Fynn are doing great Trish !
