I think it's time to go above the police Yvonne.1st i would targit the local paper's,with pix to back up you're story, and then i would put pen to paper and write to you're MP. If that had have been done by you're dog's to a fox,or a cat or summit, and you were seen, then you would'nt have any dog's now, cause they would all be taken away from you. ...Billy...

Just seen this, there are not words to describe it

I hope he's OK. :huggles:

Make sure the police take notice, contact the council/ local paper/ everone you can! And issue the owners with a letter and a photocopy of the bill.

Dear Yvonne &Tony,

Sorry to hear about Zak, and to see those pictures off him just makes you feel sick (poor Zak). Hope your taking this further with the owners. I know you will be giving him lots of love, care & attention.

:huggles: to Zac

Poor, poor Zac, what an awful ordeal for you all. I hope he's going to be OK.

Not enough seems to be done in instances where dogs attack/bite other dogs - my friend had this happen to her the other week whilst walking past a local house, with her rescued Spanish Galgo who had a horrific life before she got him at about 4 years old or thereabouts ...

Galgo had to go and be stitched at the vets, a bill of £130 - although my friend reported it to the police (not interested cos not a person bitten, "just" a dog) and the Dog Warden has pursued matters, only for the woman whose dogs caused the attack, to deny everything!!!

She swears blind the incident never happened, and she's never set eyes on my friend and her dogs!

So where's the justice, if someone can tell barefaced lies to try and wriggle out of their responsibilities? Later that same afternoon, the same 2 dogs (with same woman owner) tried to attack a Golden Retriever - again, outside the same property where my friend's Galgo was attacked (another friend saw this from her house window) and then a few days later, the silly woman let her dogs leap out of her car on the local Country Park - and they made a beeline for another friend and her 2 dogs! My other friend's lurcher got attacked (lurcher was on lead) but luckily it was wearing a coat, which took all the damage, lurcher "only" got a bit of a tooth graze from the Staffie-type dog which seems to be leading the attacks.

Sorry cos I don't mean to hijack your thread, but it really worries me about the fact that nothing seems possible to be done when it's your dog(s) that get attacked. I think the law needs changing.

(w00t) Can understand anger Wilfred ( this is where nottingham gun crime comes in handy ) only joking i think

phone the police again bet they are sick of me, anyway the women officer seemed very concerned that know one had been to see me and said she would put a note out if i had'nt spoke to someone by tomorrow had to call back and ask for her, and yes someone phoned why i was back at the vet's, would you believe it :b also spoke to the dog warden and rspca they both said they can't do anything till the police had finished with the investigation, they have to start before they can finish

update on Zac went back to vets tonight he still would'nt eat and where the drain had been removed i could see it was swollen and was worried about the bruising, he's had another 2 jabs and more tablets got to phone tomorrow if he's still not eating, so will keep you informed poor lad

 Zac been much better today, been eating and seems bit happier

just to show you the bruising and it got much worse with each day

1 more

think you can see he still had the drain in when i took the photo's on the vets advice, the drain was removed last friday and by yesterday when i went back to the vets the bruising was black, think you can see this dog wanted to kill

poor poor boy

can you show these terrible pics to the police, that dog will do this again. God knows what Zac must be feeling mentally, and the pain

all on here know just how gentle whippets are

I hope he can get over this, :huggles: to you all

maybe shock setting in can as dangerous as the injury in older dogs. the heartless ba---rds will have to come out some time .  i would be to dig out of them   you want aleast the vet fees. never mind what poor zak is going through. hope he recovers soon AND YOU GET IT SORTED :luck: :luck:

Spoke to Yvonne last night, and although Zac is much better after more pain killing jabs, when Yvonne went into the vets there was an Alsation waiting to be treated.Poor Zac tried to hide under Yvonnes coat :( so your right Julie its not just the horrendous physical affects of this :(

Poor Zac, his injuries still look so dreadful. What a shame it must be so heart wrenching for you to see him like that :huggles:

Surely the local paper would print a story like that especially if you were to show them the pictures and they might print them along with the story?

Why should the owners not be named and shamed after all we ALL have a responsibility to keep our dogs under control. I would imagine if it had been a child/person there would have been so much more action and a far quicker response taken. The least the owners could do is show some remorse and pay your vet bills as someone else has already mentioned I think. Maybe then when they were out of pocket they would make sure their dog was properly kept under control and out of reach to other dogs

ONCE THEY HAVE TASTED BLOOD THEY WILL BE WORSE THAN EVER. NOT REALLY THE DOGS FAULT,JUST PROTECTING THERE TERRITORY.OWNERS PROBLEM

Zac still having good and bad day's not eaten much again today, police still not been (w00t) a week today, telling them will be phoning news papers after i get of the phone see if that works and i will be phoning paper

dont expect any police to come, cos they wont, our old dog was also savaged in similar circumstaces over a year ago and were still waiting for them to come.
