1972 was the year I took my Borzoi dog to Crufts. It was also the first time my husband Peter, then my fiance, visited Crufts. My dog had done quite well winning a first at Blacpool under Robin Searle and a couple of firsts at Manchester under Joe Braddon. He was a nice dog but carried his tail quite high. As I was waiting to enter the ring Peter had been avidly reading the breed description in the catalogue and declared what a shame, it says here Guy carries his tail all wrong. I knew it, probably everone watching knew it, but just at that moment it would have been better unannounced.
We didn't win anything but I always said that come the day when I win BIS at Crufts the last person allowed to be interviewed by Phillipa Forrester will be Peter.
I was also wondering what year did Crufts qualification start?
