The BBC has dropped Crufts from its schedule, lets hope becomes a proper dog show again.

Good for those that are going .... but what about us poor plebs who rely on a relly to tape it for us ???

I'll miss my fix :(

No loss in one point, but alot peeps like to see it on the telly :(

I use to watch it and enjoy the programme, seeing the different breeds ect, But the last couple of years it has been awfull. To much of the presenters. Ben Foggle who I quite like in other programes totally ruined it for me he was terrible. I t was over hyped and becoming over the top which is all down to the BBC.

Lets hope another company will pick it up and turn it back in to a decent programe about dogs and a show.

I am glad the kc didnt agree to the terms they wanted.

At least the show will be able to run without the pressure of groups etc having to be done to the BBC timetable

what were the terms?

is a bit of a shame, I will be going down for the hound day, but would have liked to catch the other groups on telly.

Apparently they wanted certain breeds excluded from any likely TV coverage such as BIS and Groups

they would probably just like to keep doggy dancing

Yes, fly ball, agility, obedience and all the other silly things. It is supposed to be a dog show, not a stage show with silly people making silly comments, they obviously haven't a clue really.

Why can't all the side shows have jamboree of their own one weekend and the dog show the next weekend?

I quite enjoy watching fly ball, but agility IMO is only fun as long as you're doing it.

and doggy dancing! is it a sport? I find it plain stupid...

it will be better for the show without all the goings on, and there are other big shows that don't get any TV coverage and people can live without it. I believe the competitors and their dogs are more important than entertaining the average Joe.

IMO its no loss at all

For me they never showed enough of the actual showing in the rings,

It is after all a dog show !!!

Maybe one of the satellite or independent channels can now

secure the broadcasting rights

I do enjoy seeing the Group winners and I always watch the final

I enjoyed listening to Crufts FM 106.8 last year. On the Crufts web-site this is still advertised for 2009.

For those who will miss the TV broadcast have a tune in to Crufts FM

My sister used to record the TV programmes & send them out to me. I really enjoyed watching it & passing the tape around to others to watch. I shall miss all that but I do support the KC for not kow towing to the BBC's outrageous demands.

How stupid, that is the raison d'etre of Crufts isn't it, or having I been missing something all these years that I have been showing.

for me this hype with the bbc is over the top they had no problem in showing how some pedigree dogs were badly bred why cant they show the other side of the coin as there are some very good breeders out there that im sure crufts could have televised im not saying certain breeds dont have an issue as regards to health but i just wish this whole debate wasnt one sided like it seems to be at the moment :(

next thing you know the animal rights extremists will be at the shows making their feelings clear

come on bbc show the good that breeders are doing as i know there are some out there
