Glad to hear from you Rose. A great shame you and MISS TORI won`t be able to make it. Pity you didn`t answer my posts AND texts to you before now ! Perhaps your computer was `down` ? I was beginning to think you didn`t fancy the idea !

I never realised her toe injury was quite that bad, as having had every type of toe injury you could imagine, over the years, the majority of the dogs I had in my care, returned to racing in about 3-4 months, so MISS TORI`s must have been very serious ! Even allowing for a litter of pups in between.

Therefore it`s quite understandable with the hard ground, your reluctance to run her just yet and you must be praying for rain before Shanes Castle, so she can once again defend her `title`! She will obviously be very short of work, but her class will no doubt bring her through if you decide she`s able to compete.

Best of luck !

;) Excuse my ignorance here, but being keen to get into the sport, I need to ask all the questions I can!! Is this race open to greyhounds as well, or is it just for lurchers ??? :)

Open to anything that doesn`t have an earmark !
So is what you are saying then Martin, that we will posibly be runnin again'st full greyhound's. Ahh well,Bigger they are, you know the rest.As far as traveling goes John. All the year's that we used to show and race,we travelled an average of 200 mile's to every show in ireland mate. But when we would put the odd show on down our county, then no one showed up in support. So naturaly, the show's down here died out.Not only did i travel 200 mile round trip tp most of the show's.I never in 8 years missed one show, and we used to have 10/20 a year mate.We went with all the kid's in tow, from nappy stage up.Needless to say,we could'nt afford fortnightly trip's in big boat's.Wish thing's had been different mate, cause my name would have been household, just like youre's .See you Sunday mate. You know,Nicola and Frankie mind me of ourselv'e,when we started out as a young famile, with a hunger for glory. :luck: on Sunday Frankie, and Nic.Take care of that merchindice girl.Hope all is well with you both. ...Billy...

Like Martin's Ernie, mine are only going for the craic,as they are in no way race fit,due to me being out of action, and Kirsty having no one to help her out, with doin the lure work. This,+ all the field's being under a heavy crop of silage, which ain't cut yet.I am back on my feet now.(sort off),and it will have to be full steam ahead,if im to help get the wee bitch's ready foe next month's show down,at Shane's Castle.Sunday will go down as a good day's training, and more important,a day's craic, with old mate's i hope.Which is summit i need badly, having been more or less house bound, for the last month.Good luck to all the lad's n lass's from up here, who are taking the plunge with me.  ...Billy...
billy cant make it as rhonda goes in on wednesday to get hip opp so to much to get sorted as she has to travel to craigavon to get it done but all the best to whose going think that might be us for this year as its a family thing with us take care all those that are competing :luck: :luck:

Hope all goes well with the opp mate.Wish they would do mine, and the knee as well, but ive been told i have to wait quite a few years.Tell her we are rooting for her,and to make sure she has a tv screen for the big match,on weenesday night.

ATTENTION : Billy, Fra, Coatsy, Stormy, Rose and anybody else that might be interested !
The Midland Lurcher Club will be holding a meet in Portlaoise on Sunday 18th May at 10.30 am. Early start because of the warm weather (Proper thinking !)

A 32 dog stake run over 275 yards. Trophies and good prize money. Consolation Racing for those beaten in the first round with prize money and trophies as well.

All entries have to be in by next Thursday as a draw will take place that evening ! €10 ENTRY FEE. Please contact me and I will forward them to the organisers.

This is a proper meet and if you want to see your dog tested then come on down ! Time Rose and Stormy got their dogs tested properly !

Please support this event, as they have ambitious plans to run a big two day meet later on in the year, where perhaps some top English dogs might travel over to compete ?

They are a grand friendly crowd that enjoy the racing and the craic and this is what all meets should strive for.

Even if you haven`t a runner, come on down for the day out, you wont be disappointed ! !

I would love to have turned up to this event with 'Miss Tori' under normal circumstances... BUT... Miss Tori suffered a very serious TOE INJURY (possible career wrecking) back in september as you know fine rightly!! WHEN, WHERE & 'IF' we decide to run her again will be OUR decision only!! i will NOT risk her not making a full recovery for the sake of a few euro's!! you being a greyhound man you should have known better! As for being 'TESTED PROPERLY' i think we all know she has won more than a few local races!! ;)

Goodluck to everyone attending  :luck: :luck:

Rose :)

Wise decision Rose  I've seen her toe and it looked a very bad injury.

Tori as nothing to prove, let her offspring do the talking, so to speak ;)
