What do you think of the lovely Toby. Would you say he's 100%

Jack Russell, he's around 3 according to the vet.

He was given to my sister as his owner simply 'didn't want' him.

He's been with her for about 4 months and he's a good as gold.

Clean in the house, good with kids and other dogs.......very bad

with chickens

I was about to say the same as Hula - his legs are longer than a typical JR (though I'm no expert!). My brother had a Parson Russell cross and he was as tall as a whippie (though that could've been the 'cross' bit!) Just googled some images of Parson Russells and Toby looks just like them

I'd say he was a Parson Russell Terrier, hence the longer legs. To get the jack Russell as in Rebus and Wilf there was originally a cross between a Parson Russell Terrier and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier hence the stumpy legs. Although some Jacks that you see are also slightly more stocky as well.

He looks a real character.

He's a proper Parson (although without proof you couldn't be sure there wasn't a tad of Fox Terrier in there too)

I agree with the comments so far- I would say Parson Russel Terrier- and he is a very handsome boy

It must just be me, i thought there was something not

quite right about his head shape. Doesn't really matter

That's the best attitude to have.........never mind what his parents officially were or weren't - as long as he makes his new family happy. He is a very handsome chap! Parsons type I would say. Hope they have lots of fun with him.

Ann I am not surprised that he is bad with chickens - Rebus will chase any bird when off lead and I don't mean lagging behind his nose is literally on their tail feathers.

What is he like with furries? Rebus took chase on a squirrel a while ago. I have not seen anything like it. The squirrel was soon in a tree but did he give up...he was running flat out under the trees tracking the squirrel jumping about four foot in the air when it finally settled to try and get in the tree to get it. His prey drive is something I have never seen the likes of before. Thankfully his recall is good and he came back but it was funny to watch.

My sister has a bit of land and has a few of everything on it.

He's fine with the Sheep, Donkey, Pigs, Rabbits but if he gets

near the Chickens he's terrible, will chuck them about and rip

their feathers out, and god forbid he got hold of a cat.

And at home he isn't bothered about the Chinchilla's but let

him near the finches cage he goes nuts. It seems he has a

problem with birds of any sort.

Not partial to birds myself so I can sympathise with that :angry:

Getting chickens soon just keep thinking of the eggs xx lol
