It has been hot here and we have been taking the whippies for quite a few runs on the leash free beach. Rosie has swum out to me a couple of times but every fibre of her being seems to be telling her that it is not a good idea :(

She is better at being the supermodel on the beach :*

Here is Sophie having her first run on the beach and loving it :D

When she saw me in the water she just dived in and swam straight out to me - brave pup!

Uncle Hugo just likes to stroll along and have a wade in the shallows....

Hi you, well from a cold n wet miserable cant afford to live, gone to the dogs, no longer great britain, i thank you for bringing sunshine into my home, and to think many years ago, i could have been a £10 pom, do you fancy a home swap by any chance, FOR LIFE

 :huggles:

keith, sat here wanting to put on the central heating, but cant afford to

I'd certainly swop you a day like today - it is tooo bl**dy hot. I've sunk so low as to actually watch that stupid race (F1) on the telly and have a ice cold beer - actually almost enjoyed watching the race - but don't tell the other half ;) who is a motor sport 'enthusiast'.

Glad to be the bringer of sunshine. I always love looking at other people's posts with photos so I thought I'd share mine. I've still got my 'L' plates on though - have to work out how to make the photos less HUGE.

I'm always on a quest to get that shot that really captures the spirit of my dogs. With Rosie I never seem to be able to get it - maybe there just is an essence of her that cannot be captured on film - dunno - she is my best mate, my personal assistant, my best friend and always right at my side. How lucky we are to have special dogs like that in our lives.

What beautiful dogs and lovely pictures, that beach is just

whippet heaven

My girls run about and play in the water but i havent seen

them swim.

Sada has been for a walk somewhere and jumped into a

ditch and i think she must have swam to get out but i

couldnt see through the bushes and stuff..........was busy

having a heart attack over her jumping in

Thanks AnnSa

I don't think that the water is their natural home ;) so I was surprised when Soph swam out to me without any hesitation.

It is a lovely beach - leash free all the time - only catch is ....it is also the nude beach so you do see some sights  I had to make sure there wasn't any 'inappropriate content' in the background.

You gotta wonder about the council putting these two groups together on the same beach  Fortunately you don't have to be nude to walk on the beach!

I just heard the forecast for tomorrow 39degrees C (w00t) . Somebody obviously did not notice that the summer supposes to be over. :D Unfortunately, our off the leash beach is restricted for dogs to before 10am and after 7pm. Where is the nude beach please?

I gladly exchange some of our sunshine for bit of snow :)

Great pics

It seems some whippets do water and others don't  Izzy walks round mud and puddles, but will now get her toes (just her toes!) wet on the beach if OH is in the sea.

Not that we get in the sea much in the UK (w00t)

from Somers beach - heading east towards Cerberus.

Also quite a lot of single blokes with back packs walk up there - gotta wonder what that is about (w00t) .

We generally meet up with a whippet friend or two and have a lark about racing up and down the beach with a cool off in the waves and brekkie at the Merricks store - they do cafe au lait really well - great big bowls of coffee and yummy srambled eggs!

The water off Victoria can be a wee bit chilly too Ann -sometimes it seems as if it came straight from Antarctica!

Some ways its better that they are non swimmers. My niece had a dog that would swim out into the Brisbane river and become totally deaf to any recall - bit of a worry as there are sharks in that river (w00t)

The breakfast sounds good

Dont think i would dare take my girls on a nudist

beach.......they may want to play catch with something

they shouldn't

Wonderful! Seems like you have a great beach over there

Mine love swimming in the sea on sunny days. Dobs has just come back from his morning swim at a canine pool he's started going to. He's been to one in the past which he didn't like at all but this new one is great!

Skippy loves to run in the water after his ball, but can't swim to save his life - hence the life jacket. It gives other people on the beach a laugh to.
