i'm always paranoid about my dogs being singled out for theft, so when i got the following email i thought i'd better let you all know about it just in case you get the same, especially as i havn't advertised my dogs anywhere, am never selling any and havn't had a pup in the house for 2 years :(

My name is JAMES MOORE I hereby telling you that i have so much

interest in your advertised DOG, which i saw via net and i will like you to

get back to me with the following datas, which is: 1. THE OWNER? 2.HER /HIS

HEALTH CONDITION ? 3. THE LAST OFFERING PRICE YOU ARE GOING TO SELL HE / SHE

FOR ME?

Please get back to me with the following datas required for the next

arrangement.

Regards .

James.

maybe it is completely innocent and i'm over reacting but it does seem a good way to get details about someones dogs/value etc

I seem to remember having an email of this person myself a while ago .I sent an emil back saying I had no dogs for sale and didn't know of anyone who had any. I haven't heard anything from them since.

I advertised a car in Loot and gave my email ad. I was plagued with emails from Hotmail accounts which were worded exactly like yours (but wanting the car of course.) It is all part of a swindle, they start wanting you to cash cheques and one thing and another, I can't remember just how it works, it was on a local radio programme with Trading Standards shortly after I got the first email. Ever since I get emails from various banks and building societies who have lost my account details and want me to update them (including my account number and passwords!!)- yeah, yeah, yeah!! I didn't know I had so many accounts, I must be loaded but didn't know it!

I hope you don't keep getting them Becky, they are a real nuiscance.

same here when i advertised things in loot, still getting them

Don't reply to them, and then they will think your email address is "dead".

Sometimes, if you reply, they know it's a live one and keep sending stuff to you.

i get the bank ones all the time  wonder just how many people fall for it

i also get loads of the ones where some rich old person has apparently died leaving unclaimed millions,

my kennel and run was broken into last year and although i don't keep the dogs in it (it's just a wood store) it did give me a reminder to keep on top of security,

sooo many conmen and lowlife scroats out there who would happily take your last penny and family pets

i too get lots of bank ones asking me to update my info, also loads of spoof emails from paypal and ebay,i just delete them.oh theres the pharmacy online too

They probably got your email addy off your website, from the link on here, they may think Owen and Otis's pups belong to you, I get a few emails from mine, so far only nice ones though, sometimes asking about pups :)

I notice it's an 070 number which is dodgy in itself but I'm sure I've seen someone post this exact same email on here before.

Been on before this has, do what wilfred suggests and ignore it, delete it

I've had a good look using words from the email but can't find it on here but I'm sure the wordage was similar too. Either way it's dodgy and I'd be tempted to send them a ''life is beautiful'' email (w00t)
