Between October to March  Goodrington and Paignton Beaches are good but only when tide is out!!You can walk from Paignton to Preston Sands !

Blythe beach in Northumberland is dog friendly all year round. Very long sandy beach with gorgeous high dunes.

St Andrews beach in Scotland is, im sure its open all year round to dogs but in the summer, I think it might be certain sections only.

Just found this online - looks like it is a work in progress and they've cut the top half of Scotland off :( but still might be useful for folk looking for dog friendly beaches 8)

We live in Crantock, just outside Newquay and we have a superb beach all year round dog friendly. Close to us are Watergate Bay, Padstow and Rock has one of the largest beaches in the area.

Seapalling Beach in North Norfolk:

There are sand dunes and a long stretch of beach - Very nice area :)

I think dogs have to be on a lead on the main beach by seapalling which is usually busy but the rest of the beach they are allowed off the lead.

Hope this helps!

Long Rock, Penzance, Cornwall is dog friendly all year round

Walberswick beach (south of Southwold in Suffolk). Dog friendly all year but best at low tide when there is sand and not just shingle. £3.00 per day to park the car and the best doughnuts in the world at the Parish Lantern in the village if you need sustenance after your walk. And Dunwich beach, the next along, which has a good stretch of ground landward of the beach for when the tide is in.

Barkby beach (at the north end of Prestatyn, North Wales). Dog friendly all year where the other Prestatyn beaches only allow dogs October to April. Make sure you pay the small parking charge though ... a fair few folk don't seem to realise that they need to and the area is patrolled by a very eager traffic warden.

Also Holywell Bay just south Of Crantock, we are so lucky to have beautiful dog friendly beaches nearby- there is also a tiny little beach in between the both called Polly Joke, it is usually far quieter than the others as it has no lifeguard cover, you can access it by car by driving along the rough track that runs over Cubert Common. :)

Hi, Dave in Crantock, we are very close to you, hope we might bump into you one day :D

How about Weston-Super-Mare, is part of that beach open to dogs all year round?

Want to take Blue there for her birthday :b :D

I'm sure local council websites might have something about this - North Cornwall District Council, now part of Cornwall Council, always used to produce a leaflet showing all the dog friendly beaches. Yes, Rock is a lovely beach round here - usually really good for ball games etc. Padstow is sometimes a little bit more crowded. Another great place for dogs (though not just a beach - it does have a small private beach) is Trebah gardens, near Falmouth - you have to pay to get in but dogs on leads are welcome. You can also take them to Pencarrow House, near Bodmin, and you can also let well behaved ones off the lead there. We have also had a lovely time at Jenny Cliff in Plymouth (pebbley beach, but lots of grass at the top of the cliff to run around on) and Mount Edgcombe (free to go around the grounds, dogs on leads, bit of a pebbley beach).
