Hi there!

I'm interested in learning how to groom my dog and have found a few one-day courses in London (or not too far from it), including:
- Delights Grooming Courses
- Dog grooming training academy
- Brentwood Grooming school

I also came across the Groom Arts Academy, which offers a three-day course, but unfortunately, the next session is fully booked.

Has anyone taken any of these grooming courses? Do you think it's realistic to learn dog grooming effectively in just one day?

I've not looked at any of them but I think a lot would depend on what's covered. Basic washing and brushing would probably be do-able in a day but I'd imagine that clipping, stripping, nails, teeth etc would take a LOT longer.

If I were you, I'd go to the best grooming salons in your area and ask what sort of training and qualifications they would look for in a job applicant. There's also a Facebook group, Taking the Grr out of Grooming, where you might get good advice.

Training and qualifications for a job applicant are likely much higher. The companies I have listed also propose some courses for people who want to become professional groomers, it is much more intensive and expensive than a single training day.
I am wondering if this single day training would not be a loss of time and money. I agree with you, my intuition tells me that it requires much longer.
