Thanks for that Jools  Well something terrible happened on Sunday and my Oh hardly dared to tell me. He was out walking with Oscar and Kobi in our nearby dogwalk - when our two spotted the stray dog - Oscar being more adult was obedient but Kobi (w00t) ran off after it - and no matter what my other half did he didnt respond.

He gave chase right up our local park and the stray ran through a gap in the fence and straight over the road and youve guessed with Kobi in hot persuit. (w00t) (w00t) there were Cars at the time too (w00t) - but in this instance Kobi and the stray were unhurt. :sweating: :sweating:

I was realy annoyed about what had happened  and have spoke to the Council Offices, and am still waiting for them to come back to me also about this incident.

Not only could My dog have been killed chasing it, a terrible accident could have taken place even killing a person too.  and as far as I Know the dog is still on the loose.

(w00t) Wow Janis, Kobi was really lucky, hope this stray is caught before he/she causes an accident, any news ?

Julie

Hope they find the stray...another dog might not be as lucky as Kobi. The stray problem really does need to be sorted. If I remember right we only have one dog warden who covers the whole of Glasgow. And there is another warden who covers another section but that also includes giving out fines and educating people on dog care and what not.

I think we are very backwards with regards to wardens and dog control.... i think we should go down the lines of America and its police wardens...

They get fine/jail/ and pet removel if they do stuff wrong

I couldn't agree more, the American system works as animal wardens, animal welfare (and if there are questions over an animals welfare, the family are then screened by the the equivilent of our social services as animal and child cruelty are often linked.) We are very sadly lacking in animal welfare over herein comparison.

Well heard yesterday (dont know if its definitely true but will make enquiries) that a local Animal Welfare from our area, has caught the dog in question

Lets hope its true ... the dog has amazed me living out in this aweful freezing cold weather and living on dead rabbits, and scraps. :(

Totally agree

Just to let anyone know that is interested, I rang our local Animal Rescue Centre and yes they now have this dog in their care. :huggles: She (a bitch) looks like an alsation/collie/lurcher cross type and is very thin and frightened but is making good progress with them. She is getting along with the other dogs there but is a bit scared of the cats (w00t) . Also she cannot be left alone at all just now - as she destroys everything in her path, but strangely is brilliant in the car.

They caught her by slowly winning her trust, as they had found the 'Den' where she was sleeping, and someone nearby managed to lure her into the house with food then rang the animal Rescue.

Im so pleased she is now in safe hands and hope she gets a good home soon.

Thats good news, where are her owners I wonder she must have belonged to someone at some point  I bet she chewed stuff and they just kicked her out

I have been off work this week and so far haven't seen any of the dogs about so thats good news

It makes you wonder doesn't it apart from anything else it's bloody freezing out why would people just let their dogs just wander around and nothing ever happens to them then there's people like us who take care of ours and people come and pinch them

It makes you so mad

Lesley, I had heard a rumour that a gang of lads were out hunting and because this dog wouldnt work, they had give it a kicking and beating  then left it out deliberately - but whether thats true or not............WELL

If it is -.... I know what Id like to do to them.
