Poor Dolly, she was texting me while I was stranded too (w00t)

It took me an hour to do a 3 minute journey as the roads were completely flooded :(

Hope she is home soon :luck:

Row Row Row your boat

Quickly down the street

Merrily Merrily Merrily Merrily

Isn't summer neat!!

It is not a boat that Dolly wants but the Sailors (or even firemen) in it

I remember a song about that,

Dr Foster went to Glouchestre in a shower of rain.

We also had the inshore Lifeboat sailing up the main town in Filey this week !!!!

hey Mark, your song doesn't rhyme :p

Dr Foster went to Gloucester in a shower of rain

He stepped in a puddle

Right up to his middle

And never went there again

Dolly get a house on a hill like Mrs M ;)

When he heard of Dolly's needs

he used his coat

to make a boat

and ferried her to Leeds

Having just seen the news this morning I hope Dolly was able to get home safely and didn't have to spend the night in her car. The pictures on the television were very worrying, it makes my limerick look very flippant now.

Poor Dolly :( When she texted me she has travelled 2 miles in 2 hours (w00t)

My mum was stuck for 7 hours and ended up spending the night in Stratford and is still stuck up there now, don't think she'll make it back down til tomorrow now

Hope you got home okay Helen

I know!!

I didn't believe it at first, when my friend said it had just gone past her window! It's been horrendous.

Poor Dolly, too, and everyone else who's had this, wherever they are in the country. Does anyone else remember, back at Easter, the forecast for this summer was, it would be so hot our brains would fry in our skulls!

For the past few weeks I have taken to keeping my wellies and waterproofs in the car at all times - and I usually only do that in winter, in case I have to abandon the car and face a long, wet walk! :- "

She did get home, but she had no internet and only basic telly

She did say that she saw a lot of devastation to homes, and it was quite upsetting :(

Spoke to Dollys mum this morning, they are now buying in water as the local treatment plant is flooded but they are OK...... poor them and she had to miss Lollipops first show  hope it gets better there soon

Spoke to Dolly last night - still VERY bad up there, still trying to find enough water to buy in...I wonder if they still have electricity today :( Hope they'll be okay :luck:

Another few days of this is just going to be awful, I feel very lucky down here as we just seem to have missed the worst of it

I have been thinking of Dolly and anyone else affected, please give her my best wishes. I so hope this rain stops soon. Maybe in time for a winter heatwave?

Spoke to Dolly last night, she is very miserable as the water situation is still the same, it could be up to 2 weeks before it is restored. There is plenty around for drinking, but washing yourself and your clothes is obviously out of the question. Many areas surrounding Glos are going to lose water later today. My parents have none now, I am lucky at the moment, but it is pretty grim. Our local supermarket cannot sell fresh food over the counter as they cannot wash hands or equipment. It is madness in this day and age that a strategy is not in place in the event of emergencies. Bowsers and bottles are fine for the fit and healthy, how on earth are the ill and infirm supposed to struggle down the road with a bucket of water
