Well for a start I entered her in the wrong class  Could have entered her in Junior and or Garduate and put her in Post Graduate instead :b

Anyway she showed like a dream, couldnt ask for a better start as I have had no time to assess her at all. This is the first time I have put a show lead on her or put her on a table although I know she has been on a table as a baby puppy with her breeder and Katia has sent a picture of her on a table as an older puppy.

She went unplaced in the breed classes but a respectable 2nd in a big AV Hound class behind Linda Jones Dachshund who is scrumptious

She really can move but I have to run so sorry to all those out there who object to people running with their Whippets but if I dont I cant keep up with her and she looks like shes been kicked up the backside.

So very pleased with her and she was so relaxed about it all which is lovely.

ah, well done Emilie and Jan

what is an AV class?

You should go at the speed that is right for your dog and blow what anyone else thinks!

You have paid your entry fee and are there to show your dog to its best advantage and if that means running, or standing it on the floor or the opposite way round .............. so be it.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now!

Well done the  Emilie and Jan!!!

I agree Do what is best for your dog. To make them look their best. Thats why we go after all

Well done.

I agree too

Good on you Emilie for being such a good girl & well done for the 2nd place

quiite a gree, no point `mincing `around the ring when youve got a girl who can cover the ground

well done Jan , who was your breed judge ?

Claire Rishworth did the breed and Pers Iverson the rest of the hounds and AV Hound

Pardon my ignorance, but who would object, and why?

As far as I can see it's up to the individual, and how are other people allowed to object and on what grounds

Well done on her first show btw

Well done Jan and Emilie - not bad for first show - you must be pleased.

Well done. i think we need a picture.

You only have a short time in the ring, so..... make the most of it :D . If judge wants you slow down they will tell you  You may need to hand out some tips to the people who think you need to walk around the ring (w00t) (w00t) Keep up the good work

Sounds as though she shows a lot of promise! Well done on your 2nd in AV.

The only fair objection, in my mind, is if by moving a dog so fast it was 'up the bum' of the dog in front! If enough space is allowed by the 'running' exhibitor, objections are just sour grapes!

We all try to show our dogs to their best advantage!

Agreed - Very well done Emilie! :huggles:

Thanks for that Bridget, it's all making sense now (w00t) I hadn't thought of it from that point of view, I was thinking about when we do our individual bits in the ring :b

Must top up my highlights (w00t)

Well done little Emilie :flowers:

 well done
