Well she is very very very sweet and ever so determined and tough- a real character :wub: :teehee: :devil:

The housetraining is going remarkably well (so far :- " ) only one accident of each type in 2 days o

There are only two problems, the first is that if she wants something and isn't allowed it she SCREAMS and SCREAMS and SCREAMS :rant: I have never heard anything like it :blink: .

The second problem is that the thing she most wants in life is the big dogs' food and she'll do anything to get to it. She is the only one who has tried to chew her way into the food bin, when ever I take my eye off her she is either rootling round in the kitchen to find and little bits of their food they might have left or she's chewing at the food bin.

So what I wanted to ask is- will their food do her any harm as an occasional treat or should I keep her away from it.

She is soooooo gorgeous, :wub: :wub: :wub: not sure about the screaming I would try to ignore her when she's doing that(easier said than done I know) but if you give in she'll keep doing it, turn away from her so she knows your not interested.

When she was at Paul's did she mix with the big ones because maybe she is used to finding bits of their food and eating it so she see it as the norm :unsure:

I don't think bits will do her any harm, Spry used to nick bits of theirs and she was ok :thumbsup:

Are you feeding her little and often it might be that she's a bit peckish or she might just be being a little bugger :lol:

Food wise - how many meals are you feeding her? A couple of bits of the adult food as a treat won't do any harm :thumbsup:

I don't think adult food will do her any harm at all. The main thing about puppy food is that it has extra calories to help her grow, so she needs this for her main diet, but "tidying up" after the big dogs shouldn't be a worry. Logan likes to eat what the others are eating too and, naturally, they can't get enough of puppy food! They don't see why he should get more meals a day than they do! :lol:

LOL! Sorry I shouldn't laugh but it does remind me of when I got Dobs who also screamed at me. I remember ringing up Vicky asking her if he normally did this when he was excited because I was worried he was hurt or something! :blink:

Apparently the whole gang did it (Lesley LOL!) Anyhow he grew out of it but he is quite a vocal little guy that chunners and yoddles when he's excited but I like the talkers and it is kind of sweet.

Just wanted to add she is gorgeous!! :wub:

Hmmm, if she screams and screams, I would be inclined to pick her up a little way (like a baby with your hands in her armpits) and look her in the face with a little shake and a firm "NO!!" then put her down. Once she stops then praise her and pick her up properly and give a cuddle (you've just got to cuddle them haven't you!!! :wub: :wub: )

If she wants some of the big dog food it isn't going to harm her so let her have it!!

A lot of the time when I have litters I don't even buy special puppy food because they don't like it mostly! I might buy a little bag of complete purely because the balls are smaller but they usually manage the Greyhound complete fairly quickly and enjoy it more but I only use that as snacks/filler-uppers anyway. The meat they have the same as the adults only more beef along with tripe etc or tins of Butchers tripe and pouches/Naturediet just to get them used to anything and everything! :thumbsup:

Thanks for the advice I think I'll mix a little in with her normal food - rice pudding/ tuna/ James Wellbeloved puppy food- should keep her happy
