Hi,

Little Fern is doing ok.

Went out yesterday for a walk with Fern, she is just amazing a real tough little cookie, what a little sweetie she is,she just loved the fresh air and took it all in her stride.

Homer is just so scared,he wants to go out but, once out he's on two legs trying to

get away and go home.poor little soul. :(

My hand is getting better but very painful ,it's also going to take a time to have full control in my thumb.

Love Pat,Fern and Homer xxx

Thank~you for asking :huggles:

awww! glad to hear fern is improving daily as for little homer it has really been a traumatic time for him too to see his best friend attacked like that must have been awful for him i do hope he gets some normality back im sure he will it will just take time i suppose, im glad your scars are fading too i hope you regain the feeling in your thumb :huggles:

i had to ask as your story had to be one of the most horrific things ive heard in a long time so much so i cant stop thinking about it im just glad you are all here to tell the tale as it could have been so much worse :(

GOOD LUCK FOR A CONTINUED RECOVERY FROM US ALL HERE X :huggles: :huggles:

I was thinking about Fern and Homer today, Pat.

I had to go to a meeting in Newquay and during a break I took Poacher and Irie for a walk along Fistral Beach.

There was a huge mastiff being walked, off a lead, belonging to a couple of young lads. They were extremely responsible with it and called it away before they came near to us and the dog wasn't at all interested in anything other than his ball, but it made me think of your situation and just how small and vulnerable our whippies are :(

It can't be right that the owners of the great dane responsible for Fern's and your injuries is getting off free of responsbility for their dog's actions? The injury to your hand sounds quite severe and I would have thought that the least the people could do is to offer you some form of compensation

It also seems as though poor little Homer is psychologically scarred and sometimes this is worse than physical injuries :( I have a very, very gentle GSD here - if it would be any help at all to assist Homer in getting over his fears of large dogs then I am more than willing to bring her up to you at some stage and let them get to know each other and walk together? Please do let me know if I can help in any way, Pat

Jx :luck: :luck: :huggles:

Hi,

It is so nice of you to offer to help me with Homer,at the moment it's just very small walks for him and lots of TLC. :huggles:

Maybe in a month i could take you up on your offer

We had a show booked for Sunday just up the road from me,i might just take him along for the ride and take him around the car park and see how he is.

When i go out i'm looking for danger and i'm very nervous so i know how poor little Homer feels.

It's going to take time with him and lots of patience :huggles:

Many thanks,Pat, Fern and Homer xxx

Hi I was so sorry to read about the horrific time you and your whippies had. Have you thought of Rescue Remedy when you go out for a walk, someone suggested to me at the NWA on Sunday to put a few drops on the tongue and on the back of the head (the dogs I meant not you!).
