feed a few small meals a day- spread out.

more exersise, our dog got podgy cos we got lazy! get up and enjoy long walks together.

exersisi is the key to fab coat too!

If you like to give treats or rewards make sure you take them out of the food allowance for the day, not on top of it. Weight out the food daily, it's amazing how we can gradually lose track of how much they should be eating at each meal. Some dogs enjoy carrot or apple bits for their treats, but Mine hate it tbh. Playing with them inside helps burn up extra calories, though it sounds like yours are getting plenty of walking anyway.

I have trouble with Kobi - he puts weight on much easier than Oscar. I try to watch his food, and give him less than Oscar. But must hide the treats as he has a habit of helping himself to tripe sticks  little begger.

hes is extremely greedy too :- "

Albie spent most of the year being a fat bloater. The summer was far too hot for him so I couldn't get him to shift the weight then. Since it's been cooler, I fed him less and exercised him more and now he has quite a trim figure again. :)

I do think, though, that like people some dogs are more prone to putting on weight than others. Having said that, Albie is a greedy pig who'd eat till he burst! (w00t)

if you really want you dogs to loose weight feed them 1/2 to 2/3rds their normal

ration and add that much of the normal ration of canned green beans - they will

still think that they are full and will loose the weight - dogs love the cheapest

canned green beans you can find too -

it works

Don't know if its just the pictures but I don't think they look fat. Who has said that they are? What are you feeding them at the moment?

Like H & H said, I too think some more dogs are more prone to weight gain than others. My Lenny has the potential to be a fat little monkey, he is permanently hungry, even after his tea. Molly on the other hand eats the same as him and looks like a rake

I managed to get 5 lbs off of Archie this summer. My top tip is to weigh or measure food. If you feed dry, weigh out your reduced amount of food, then find a small pot or container that this amount fits into. Use this as your scoop, and then you are not just tipping out too much. It worked for us! (Also bin your scraps, don't let the dog finish off left-overs!)
