Does anyone feed their dog raw egg? What are it's benefits?

I do - it's meant to be a healthy addition to a raw diet, though I can't remember the reasoning behind it.

Now for the embarrassing bit... if I give Jasper raw hen eggs, he gets sulphurous farts, even if it's just half an egg a day - and fiddling about with fractions of raw eggs gets messy. So, my big butch roughty-toughty dog gets... quail eggs. One quail egg a day. But please don't tell any of his mates, he has his reputation to think of;)

I once spotted what looked like an alien egg in his poo, which had a sort of rubbery shell  After a lot of head-scratching and worrying, I realised that it was a quail egg that he'd swallowed whole, and his stomach juices had dissolved the shell, but not the membrane, and then it came out the other end, still intact. Since then I've always broken the egg before giving it to him!

Ha Ha Oh Jasper! I promise I won't tell anyone ;) that's really made me chuckle imagining him with a lovely quail egg on top of his food!

Oh my, how strange!

I feed raw egg but I know its healthy for them that's it....

Our lot all like raw eggs, with or without shell, but they must be broken first!
