i finally got off my butt and made another Whippet Frisbee Vid today.
i can believe i filmed it, transferred it, edited it, made it, and put it online in one day, with other obligations through the day.... wow.
i hope ya'll like it. its kinda one of my favorites i think!
This is "Rocket from Pocket Yakuza.Gdy" at the age of one year and 3 days!!! playing frisbee on the beach with me under very windy conditions.
You know what? this got filmed only cuz i was disappointed -- because earlier......... i wanted to film Astro (my other Whippie) , using the wind, to beat (maybe even destroy) the european officially record for dog-disc distance -- on the beach. (i realize that the official records take place under more normal atmosphereic conditions... but a huge (unofficial) record-breaking action filmed and on the net could be fun and interesting. unfortunately, with Astro's injury and other things... he caught only the first throw that was filmed. it was well beyond the official euro record, but we didnt catch it on film cuz it was a trial run for us all (me, dog, camera operator, etc), so the catch itself wasnt recorded, only the throw..
all later catches, astro couldnt pull in... it was the wind, bad luck, his sore back leg (from landing on a fence on dec 25!), and getting tired. it was like hurricane conditions. the wind was blowing him around and it was also below freezing (-2C).
When i got home, i warmed up, and then decided to take my panzer tank, Rocket, out for a photo shoot. most of the best catches didnt get filmed cuz he was outside of the recorded area or the camera had shut off because of the power saver option (UPS!)
