I know some of us have suffered the odd firework for weeks now, but with the big event looming over us.

I would like to wish you all the very best comforting your dogs tonight. :huggles:

Good luck all :luck:

Our Dandy didn`t used to bother but now.................

Round here, the official "dos" stareted last month!!!!

Gavin

were lucky out of nine only minnies slightly botherd but I do think a lot of it comes down to the fact that we dont make a fuss or act any differnt when firesworks go off and just a few weeks before it stats we turn the tvs up a bit and that it no cuddles fuss or anything elas infacet milocally and indy like them and run out to watch them tails wagging

I'm lucky with my 2, they don't bother with the fireworks at all but I've never made an issue out of it, we've carried on as normal.

Inca will even stand and watch them from the back door :D

Luckily Holly and Frankie haven't noticed them :) Chloe use to be scared of them, but this year she seems to have forgotten that she is!!

Robbie is all doped up, in a cage, with a big cover over it. He can still get another 1 tablet, but hope he's not too bad this year. It's quiet just now, just the odd bang, but the big display starts at 7.30 and John and the kids are going to watch it. Im doggy sitting. Im worried about tomorrow night as I realy dont want to dope Robbie up too much :( . Roll on Feb 2007 (w00t)

Albus is no problem. Beau is doped up. It doesn't seemed to make any difference to Beau whether we ignore them or not they still freak him out.

Pleased to hear that they are all ok

Marble barks & goes on guard duty.

My Mum's greyhounds are staying with us & one of them normally shakes to the point that think the meat is going to fall of the bone. Over the years we have tried everything. Nothing works so this year she has had half a tablet & although she's clingly for some strange reason seems to be reassured with Marble's guarding duties. Fingers crossed it will stay that way. :luck:

TBH Susan I was thinking about you before and expected you to have took Robbie to the middle of nowhere again! Hope he's coping ok :luck:

   Just been over the road to scream at neighbours letting off successions of ultraloud bangers. I'm sick of this - a couple of nights ago we had load go off at 3am which really upset Gelert. He's upstairs under several duvet with the radio full on, and was fine til the really load ones started yards away. He was never bothered about them until the same people got some of the really loud, illegal ones last year :(

The people were really horrible, quoting their rights at me and saying I was upsetting their children  Couldn't care a toss what it was doing to my household    The men grabbed me in the end and dragged me out, as I said I wouldn't go until they promised to stop it

Puppy is oblivious - long may this last.

my whippies are fine , never botherd not even by the loudest bang but as im sat here i have my eldest daughters jack russel sat quivering and panting on my knee :(

good luck everyone :luck:

the two whippets and the Beag don't even notice the fireworks.

Zoe the boxer is the first dog we've ever had who is totally freaked out by them and she is sat under my table quivering.

Also Bryn my lurcher is scared this year,he is nine but this is the first year he's been worried.

since owning Zoe we haven't been to one display and we never will again, now that we have seen first hand how much the noise can upset an animal....really feel sorry for any wild animals which are upset by all the noise. :(

Luckily mine aren't bothered infact even Zoe has just asked to go out for a wee.

Its like a war zone here  the bowling club up the road has a display on tonight.

Have just left mine for 10 minutes to take Ben to the pub were he collects glasses on a Saturday night and the dog there Buster is cowering behind the bar terrified . Hes a bit happier now Ben is there Buster follows Ben everywhere Fortunately they have karioke (sp) tonight so once that starts it should drown some of the firework noises

Rocket our whippet is 6 years old and is a nervous wreck when it comes to fireworks wandering around the house and shivering finding the darkest rooom to hide in.....The biggest firework display by us was held tonight and after watching Paul Mckenna on gmtv I thought why not try desensitizing on Rocket while the fireworks are going ...I could not believe the results that I got....I kept stroking the ears and shoulders while talking to him in a quiet voice....NO disapppearing act from him just curled up in a ball and straight to sleep...you would not even know a fire work had gone off

My poor floyd was in a right state last night, panting shaking, had to give him a tablet as he gets really stressed. :(

Got to go through it again tonight

out of my six whippets floyd is the only one bothered by them. :(

Last night was not too bad, just shivering in his cage a bit :( , but he had very sleepy eye's. He only got 1 1/2 tablets, but I think he will need 2 tonight. If he does get too stressed out with the 2 tablets, I could give him another, but I wont, It will be back in the car, Meatloaf blasting out and a drive up to the hills again

Cant wait till the Spring

Managed to get Beau out last night between bangs for a wee. On the way back saw a tiny hedgehog trying to get into the garage to hide from all the noise. Poor little thing, no escape for him. :(

 Three o'clock this morning some halfwit decided to let off fire works in the street much to the distress of Zoe our boxer.

We finally got her to calm down a bit and get back to bed and lo and behold five thirty more bloody fireworks.

Seriously i need a gun

my poor Zoe nearly shook herself to pieces last night, panting and shaking poor little thing :( I gave her valian compound and rescue remedy, I set the crate up with quilts a few days ago so she could hide if she wanted to but nothing helped.

Don't know what we'll do with her tonight cos it will mainly be fireworks in people's gardens which means they will be a lot closer

even Devon and Genie have looked uncomfortable at times

intruder-pup Monty hardly raised an eyebrow  think he was so exhausted from being 'smash and grab' dog all day (w00t)

next door neighbours had fireworks going off from 7pm till 12.30am lastnight, the pups wern't bothered at all they just kept bouncing around playing,

but Binx was a different matter, he shaked, panted, whinned, howled and then threw up his tea :x and didn't settle until the small hours, :( guess it's more of the same tonight too, have to turn the radio up louder, also got one of them DAP defusers too!

All my other dogs are fine, it's just him, :(
