A friend has just had to have her beloved old lady pts and this was sent to her. I think that this is lovely. :'(

My Old Friend

Quietly as I go my way,

She follows close at heel.

Unseen to any watchers.

I feel her gently touch my leg

And my downward reaching hand

Is softly muzzled by her nose,

To give me reassurance

Unknowing people say my dog is dead,

But I know that they are wrong.

She walks beside me always,

And shares my love forever.

:'( Very moving! Just dripped a salty tear in my glass of red wine :b

Of course he's forgiven you, you loved him, he knows that. :huggles:

That poem is lovely, my GSD died in March and I know she is still with me but I also know she can now walk properly and is not in pain (she had terrible hip, elbow and stomach problems. :( Thanks for sharing it, even though it did make me cry.

I am now the very proud mummy of two lovely greyhound boys :) but Hazel will always be with me as she was my first dog.

Of course he fogives you, animals love is unconditional.

Accidents happen to the best of us no matter how careful we try & be.

Stop beating yourself up & instead remember the good times & the love that you shared & all the happy, funny moments the two of you had. To have had him & loved him if only for what seemed like a short time is better than never having known him at all.

He will never be far from you & will be waiting at rainbow bridge until the day comes when once again he will be purring all round your legs so pleased that you are together again.

A lovely poem.

I'm sure any one who has loved a dog and lost him will have a tear in their eye when they read this poem, as I have, the memories come flooding back.

Here's something else for anyone grieving at the loss of a pet.

I don't know if anyone has come across this site before. It's an animated version of the Rainbow Bridge story which someone sent to me after Josh died. It's really lovely but you will need your tissues! :'( :'( :'( It never fails to make me cry especially as it's only 4 months since we lost Josh. :(

Hope you like it.

Not smart enough this time though :'( :'( :'( :'( Its something ive always dreaded happening , each time I pull off my drive I remember him and have to check all the others are away from the car

:'( :'( . How can I not beat myself up about it :( :( I miss him so much , he always run up the street when he saw my car coming home , more like dog than a cat , . Id had Dennis for over 13 years and he was more than a cat to me :'( :'(

Its over 3 weeks now and Im still crying myself to sleep ( quitely so OH dosnt hear , he said he was `just a cat and not a child !!) , but he was my friend and I loved him :'( :'(
