Jax that is my dread with cats. I did wonder if that's what had happened. I can tell you that it's not your fault but I don't think that it'll do any good.

Many, many cats are out there unloved and left out in the cold. Dennis wasn't one of them.

Take care. :huggles:

:( Oh Jax, how awful for you. The same thing happened to my father in law a few years ago, and my mum in law took the same view as your OH, which really doesn't help a great deal does it. You will feel dreadful of course, and you should allow yourself the time to grieve, but time will help, and you will begin to be able to look back eventually and remember your lovely Dennis, and the friendship you shared :huggles:

:(   :(   I miss him  so much , he always run up the street when he saw my car coming home  , more like dog than a cat , . Id had Dennis for over 13 years and he was more than a cat to me  :'(   :'(
Its over 3 weeks now and Im still crying myself to sleep ( quitely so OH dosnt hear , he said he was `just a cat and not a child !!)    , but he was my friend and I loved him  :'(   :'(

I'm so sorry about Dennis, Jax. :( It's so hard when we lose our animal friends, especially when they have been part of our lives for so long. You loved him very much and you're bound to grieve and feel sad for a time. :'( :'( I still shed a tear or two over Josh after 4 months but I'm now able to look at photos and smile and remember the happy times we shared and I know you will be able to do the same about Dennis one day.

Best wishes, Gillian :huggles:

So sorry about Dennis Jax, no animal is ever "just a" anything. I still cry about my dog, but not so much. I know it's no comfort now but it really does get less painful. I still miss my old girl and always will but now I can look at photos and remember her with crying too much. I hope that happens for you soon. :huggles: Big hugs to keep you going. Thinking of you.

Oh Jac- so sorry about your cat, (not just a cat) a lifelong friend ..... :huggles:

I cried like a baby when our chinchilla died leaving his sister all alone (felt so helpless - couldnt do a thing) :(

they all have a special part of our hearts .... and no one will think any less of you for crying like that, me for one. I know you have many animals too, like me and each one has its part in our lives always.

So sorry to hear about your poor cat Jax, that must have been terrible for you.

:( that's a lovely poem, a comforting thought when anyone has lost their beloved pet.
