Fred and Stan decided to spend part of the May Bank Holiday visiting the Cotswolds.

I took a few quick snaps from the walk around the town we visited and surrounding countryside. My mother came along too, as we were really visiting her for the weekend. It's one of our favourite places to go walking as it's not so far from where she lives.

Heading out of town...towards the Church fields..

walking through the fields behind the church...

Buttercups a plenty....

The church played a central theme much of the way round the walk...

Hawthorne a penty too...

Arable field walking...a bit of a novelty compared to moorland..we kept to the paths:

Approaching an outlying village...

A pretty scene indeed:

Finally back along the high street:

We stopped off for a picnic close by...

Now where shall I sit...?

Or over here?

They've remembered a blanket for me..phew!

I always beg for food!

Looks like a very lovely place Nicola! and I like your mum's garden; aren't those purple lupins beautiful?

Glad you're having a nice time. I always enjoy seeing Fred and Stan's outings.

Lovely pictures as always, you always capture beautiful shots. The Cotswolds is a beautiful place and Fred and Stan look to be enjoying their time away. I love the picture of Fred laying on his blanket  :huggles:

Thank you everyone. I do love taking photos as I go on my walks......so am equally pleased when folk enjoy seeing them on here.

My mum's lupins have done exceptionally well this year Gill, as have her lillies. We think it must have been the very cold winter. I wish I could have the same success with mine, but they get shredded by slugs in my garden.

I recognise this place, I think  Is that the back entrance of a hotel on the left? I'm sure we had a meeting there last year!! :D

Lovely pictures - I think the Cotwolds are one of the most beautiful places in England

Not sure Jane. It was a small village just outside Chipping Campden...forget the name of it now. The Cotswolds are so pretty...nowhere else quite compares. It's the pretty, tucked away little villages and hamlets that make it, and the colour of the stone!
