Gloucester WRC Results 23/11/08
Today we raced for the club’s two most prestigious trophies; The Aerocraft Trophy was contested by the heavyweight group and the Taimo Tankard by the lightweights. The track was in a fair condition despite the rain we had overnight and happily we were able to use the moped for relaying the lure this week. The most exciting event of the day was when the club hosted a new a race for a new award, The Magical Mistery Back to Front Trophy. There are a number of slower dogs who attend the club on a regular basis and this trophy was sponsored by Jo and Lloyd Masson to give an opportunity to the “less fast” whippets to win an accolade. There was no shortage of acceptances to participate in the race and the results were as follows:
1st (4th Place) YAGAN'S DREAM (Well done to Dennis and Pearl who have agreed to sponsor the race next year)
2nd (3rd Place) Blythe Spirit (Lou and Simon were gutted as Daisy decided to run the race of her life and there was a little space on the mantelpiece awaiting the trophy)
3rd (2nd Place) Duncton Nemesis (Well done Chyppe, no puppy allowance ran brilliantly)
4th (1st Place) Magical Mistery (He couldn’t win his own trophy so a generous handicap allowed him to reach the lure first which was a new experience!)
Lightweight Group
Heats Conway Gem, Devils Double, Sonny Jim
Main Final
1st CONWAY GEM (Well done Amber, Dave and Lynne)
2nd Milan’s dream
3rd Magical Mayhem
4th Devil’s Double
