It is with a very heavy heart that i write this. Yesterday, my beautiful baby boy went to be with his mum in the big field in the sky. Zak sadly went to sleep yesterday afternoon following a lovely weekend away with me at the Midlands and Pride of the Peaks.
Zak won his veteran class on Saturday, with a beautiful trophy and picture that is now hauntin me in the kitchen. He was third on Sunday and did not show any signs of being ill, but unfortunaly on the way home he looked tired and I thought he had overdone it. He went into heart failure on Monday and tests showed yesterday that he also had kidney failure, after a heart rending hour, i made the decision that he should join Tigger and Tessa, who both fell asleep in March.
It is things like this that bring you back to reality and make you realise that all the arguing, bitching is simply not worth it. My dogs are my world and I am probably crying more for them than my Dad. Please enjoy your dogs, wether they are pets, working, show or racing dogs, because you simply don't know when there time will come.
RIP Zak
