This afternoon I took Grace to visit Sherwood Garden, near Newton St Cyres, Devon, where the magnolias are in full bloom at the moment. They are open every Sunday afternoon and well worth a visit. Acres of space and they are happy to see dogs on leads.

£4 a person - there is an honesty box near the house so no-one twists your arm! It takes an hour to go around even quite fast, and you can happily spend a lot longer.

From Exeter going towards Crediton/Barnstaple on the A377 you take a small left turn after the village of Newton St Cyres and drive up into the hills for a couple of miles before you arrive at the garden. It is incredibly peaceful up there, usually just the sound of birds and the breeze, and the garden has a wonderful atmosphere. The owners once had a couple of whippets themselves and so are very pleased to see them.

Oh my gosh, such beautiful pictures. The first one would be gorgeous, enlarged and framed. I've spring fever, our town is blooming with the early spring flowers too but not near as nice as your picture.
