Hello

I am the proud owner of a beautiful 16 week old whippet pup called Alfie.

He's been with us over a month now and we love him to bits.

Reading the posts on this forum has really helped me as I am a complete newbie!

Hopefully you can see a pic or two if I manage to upload the!

Thanks again

Jane

Welcome to k9 Jane

It's a great place to learn about these streaky dogs isn't it - look forward to the pictures :D

Hi Jane

I have just joined, I have a 15 week old whippet called Molly who is totally adorable, and asleep on my lap at the moment -_- what colour is Alfie? Molly is silver brindle, how are you getting on with housetraining? Molly is good most of the time but still forgets at least once a day :b she's not great at asking to go out

We'll have to talk more soon

Hello and welcome...........im just down the road from you in Didcot.....look forward to seeing pic's :)

Welcome both of you. I have a tip for teaching them to ask to go out. One of my girls did it herself, so we thought it would be good to teach Smidge our youngest.

She used to stretch up at the door, and rattle the keys in the keyhole (she's a clever girl :huggles: )

So because Smidge couldn't reach, we put some keys we don't use anymore on the end of a chain, and hung them from the other keys in the door. I jangled them every time I put him out, and it didn't take long before he started to jangle them himself. Now he goes up to the door, and whizzes them up with his nose, so they make a great clatter on the door - its brilliant.

Will look forward to seeing your pictures

what a brilliant idea of Smidge's (w00t)

Wish I had thought of something like that! Jinny & Ella bark to go out

but the others just wait silently which is a problem if I'm not downstairs!!!

Gaynor, I'm not far from you. About 10 miles north of Tavistock

Welcome to you both Jane and Gaynor :)

Flash barks or howls to go out or just really annoys you by pulling on your clothes and jumping around like a loony :- "

Trouble is he does same things if he wants a treat or his water bowl is empty so unless he stood by the patio doors you have to work it out by process of elimination lol

Hi Gaynor

Smidge is 16 months old now, here he is wearing the antlers my nieces bought him for Christmas.

You have to resize your pictures. If you are using Microsoft Office Picture Viewer, at the top it says edit pictures, and it gives you a chance to resize for email or webspace. Hope that helps

aww Smidge is gorgeous. Ive managed to sort the photoes now thanks June, They are posted under Molly pictures, hope you like!

Gaynor

It must be the breeding from the south June that these whippets learn this art of jingling keys.! Av had whippets for 35 years and never seen this art before---- UNTIL using a super dooper wee stud dog WCRch Talk Of The Devil, as soon as his 2 sons Ted & Bertie were at a height to reach the bunch of keys in the back door, all we get every day and night IS THE JINGLE JANGLE of keys non stop.! so Teds-Mr Jingle and Berties Mr Jangle.! Intelligent Boys.!
